Appearance
A short, slender girl, Apex isn't exactly intimidating. Her shoulder-length brown hair has a slight ruby sheen to it, only visible in direct sunlight. It hangs loose and limp, rarely brushed and never taken care of. Sometimes it's pushed behind her ears when she's working, or pulled into a tight ponytail when it annoys her. Most of the time it's down, though.

Her dull brown eyes have seen far too much for her age. Where warmth, happiness and life should be is only emptiness. She is pale as a result of her work, never spending much time outside. She retains her floor length white lab-coat, something she's found she can't live without. It's a constant reminder of what she was, and what she will never become again. A simple black shirt and black pants are worn under the 2-sizes-too-big lab coat. Most of the time it drags on the ground slightly when she walks. A constant annoyance.

Thin-framed glasses are always falling down her nose. It's a never ending battle to keep them pushed up.

Personality
Cold, calculating and shy. She's a serious girl, who has no idea how to laugh or joke. Everything is done for a reason - there is no such thing as play time.

However, she's not mean. When approached, she will force a smile and try to help to the best of her abilities. She is never genuine - always false. She is secretive, untrustworthy and tends to lie a lot. She respects her peers and higher-ups. Apex rarely speaks; only when spoken to. Another habit retained from her days as a Team Rocket scientist.

She treats her pokemon moderately well. They are neither friends nor subordinates. They are simply there.

Biography
For years, Apex worked for Team Rocket as a scientist. Her mother and father were high-ranking Team Rocket members, and from an early age Apex was forced into their cruel world. At first she was just a grunt, being bounced around from job to job with utter hatred for it. She became rebellious, and begged for reassignment.

Eventually, her wish was granted. She was stationed in one of the research units, doing menial work at first but eventually working her way up to the experimental level. She worked with genetic testing. Not all of her work was for harm. Her team worked on curing diseases, and preventing them. Occasionally she'd be forced to work on the more unpleasant cases, like combining DNA from two or more Pokemon to try to create something new. They all ended in failure.

There was so much failure in fact that their bosses felt the department wasn't worth funding anymore. Apex and her team were re-assigned or fired, depending on how useful their bosses felt they were.

Apex was fired. Furious, she vowed to become a strong trainer to make them all pay. Someday.
