Rei sighs at herself and then nods understandingly towards the swirlix, “You’re right, now isn’t the time for holding back, the sooner we get this done the sooner we can get help for your friend. Wisp, calm mind again and strike with shadow ball.” She tried to be quiet, not wanting to take any chances waking the sleeping snubbull with her voice, even though it likely wouldn’t.

The candle Pokémon took a deep breath in and let it out, again focusing their mind on the battle ahead. It then fixes an evil eye and a smirk on the snubbull and gathers globs of shadow energy together before lobbing it at the sleeping Pokémon.

‘If this hits, it should be close to capture, I can’t imagine it being able to take too much more.’ Rei reaches back into her backpack for a pokeball and feels a small hand place one in hers. She looks back, surprised, and sees an impidimp smiling widely with bits of shell hanging off one of his ears. she smiles back at the creature and takes the ball. “Oh, look at you! Thank you, and welcome to the world little one. I’ll help get you cleaned up once this is done, ok? Mama’s working just now.” The impdimp takes a quick look around at the scene around it before getting scared at the conflict and zipping itself up in the backpack again, save for enough room for it to stick his nose out and feed on the hostile emotions. They were clearly not going to be one to waste a free meal.

Rei looks towards the spritzee, trying to gauge their reaction and potential aggression in all of this. They'd clearly been flustered this whole fight and, while breaking a second Pokémon would be cathartic, she really didn't want to take the time for it right now.

You made a wise decision- Striking before the Snubbull woke up was going to be the best course of action. The attack was enough to knock it out while it was slumbering, the breathing of the rabid pokemon slowed to indicate it's knock out, and everything became eerily still.

It seemed like all the life that was around this battle had noticed what happened and gone silent, no rattata digging about in garbage or Unfezants making noise from the tops of buildings.

The other two wild pokemon backed away, silent and watching in silent sorrow as the rabid Pokemon stopped struggling. If you wanted to put it in a ball, now would be your best time.

Rei watches the breathing slow on the sleeping snubbull. It would appear the strike was successful in knocking out the ROT infected Pokémon. “Good strike, Wisp. That seemed to do the trick. Let’s get them in this pokeball and take them back to see where we need to start to help them.”

She looks around to the other fairy type Pokémon nearby, starting with the swirlix, “Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. I know it isn’t easy seeing a friend like this. Once they’ve recovered their mind, I’m sure they’ll understand why what happened today needed to happen and they will appreciate you helping them find proper treatment.” She clasps her hands together and turns to the spritzee, “I’m also sure they will forgive you for your inaction. You truly didn’t want to see  your friend get more injured than they must today.”

“Wisp, to me. We need to be ready if this doesn’t work for some reason.” She winds up and pitches the ball towards the unconscious snubbull in a neat spiral. The practice she’d been putting into her throw was beginning to pay off, it seemed. Now they just had to wait for the ball’s capture beam to activate and the locking mechanisms to do their thing.
