APPEARANCE
Adela is an average height, standing at around 5’6’’ tall; she has an average but curvy build. Naturally her hair is a warm brown, but she prefers to dye it various shades of pink. It’s long, too, ending at Adela’s lower back. Occasionally Adela might tie her hair up ( on a hot day, or when it’s being particularly unreasonable) but usually she wears it down. Her eyes are a medium brown shade, and she likes to imagine that they look almost amber when they catch the light.
Adela has a range of scars on various parts of her body, varying in age and size. For the most part, she keeps these covered to avoid awkward questions - or worse, pity. On her upper back, Adela has a small, discreet tattoo - the outline of a Vivillon. This is another area she usually keeps covered.
In terms of clothing, Adela prefers to dress fashionably when she can. She can’t always afford the clothes that she’d like to wear, but tries her best to look good, at least.

She’s felt wronged by many, and she’s not someone to forget easily. Despite this, Adela isn’t adverse to having others rely on her, and once someone has gained her trust and friendship, she’s determined to stick by their side. Adela spent the majority of her youth protecting and caring for her younger siblings, and has a soft spot for those she feels need protection - whether that’s children, Pokémon, or just someone she perceives as weaker than herself. Unfortunately, Adela can also hold a grudge against herself - she’s not proud of all of her decisions, and has a great deal of self criticism. Admitting this isn't something she is comfortable with, and she’s far more likely to sink her teeth into an argument than admit how she really feels. If you asked, Adela would say she doesn’t have any fears. This would be a lie - her biggest fear would be hearing the news that something terrible had happened to her siblings. Her second biggest fear is losing all control, being powerless, and feeling helpless. Adela has a fondness for bug Pokémon, butterfly Pokémon in particular. Something about their beauty and peaceful nature really calms her, and they remind her of a time in her life when things didn’t feel so… complicated. |
BACKGROUND
Born in Eve city, Adela enjoyed a somewhat peaceful start to life. She spent a lot of time outdoors, playing with wild Pokémon and exploring. Although she didn’t have much knowledge about what her parents did for a living, she knew they were important and successful and so, so busy - it was a surprise for Adela when her younger siblings were born. The twins, Desi and Dalia, were welcome additions to Adela’s life, and soon afterwards the family moved to Kain city. Young Adela missed her old home, but her parents made sure she knew they were even more successful now, and needed to move for business reasons.
Over the years, business reasons must have stressed her parents out, because they changed. They’d never been the warmest individuals, but they were almost arctic now. Or maybe they’d gone the other way - they seemed to explode almost like volcanoes now. They were mean at best, and at worst… Adela learnt a lot about protecting her younger siblings, and a lot more when her youngest brother, Lalo, entered the world.
Adela was 15 when she realised that whatever her parents did, they had something to do with Plasma. She was 16 when she got a job and started saving, aiming to get herself and her siblings out of there as soon as she possibly could.
She wasn’t much older when the Resistance took over.
Most of the day was a blur. She was working, and then she wasn’t, she ran home to an empty house, and it was all downhill from there. With her parents and siblings missing, Adela endured the awful conditions in Kain city for years, doing whatever she could to save up money. She places a lot of blame on herself for leaving her siblings at home, for not getting out earlier, for not doing better. Her goal now is to find Desi, Dalia, and Lalo, and go somewhere, anywhere where they can build a better life.
