Daxton let out a hum that was more akin to a growl, his Houndoom stopping abruptly right as he did. "Well lucky for you there's some shit right there to clean up." Daxton's eyes moved back and forth to the Poochyena and Litleo, eyes stopping and fixating on the Litleo. It looked big, it looked strong and while he was unsure if he personally would train that when he already has Valkyrie... Well he'd fight it anyways. Making a motion to his Houndoom, he silently commanded her to turn around and watch their backs... which she did. The large dark type turned and sat down at attention, harsh eyes focused on anything that might come up behind them. While she did that, he found Omen's Pokeball and released the Nidoking. "The quicker. The better." So we can either control the mon we're battling personally, or control the pokemon the other one is battling. Honestly, Ashley had been hoping she would spot any wild Pokemon or challenges before Daxton, it felt like some weird way of proving herself. So when they eventually did find something, she couldn't help but have a disappointed expression for just a moment. It didn't last though, a battle and potential team member were more important than her slightly bruised ego. Out of the Poochyena and Litleo, the Litleo definitely looked stronger - which was both a good and bad thing. Corn and Bean would probably both struggle against it, and honestly the thought of a fire type on her team at this moment - she'd pass for now. The Poochyena though. Sure it wasn't a grass type, but neither was the rest of her team for now. And sure it was currently stuck under a dumpster for some reason - but she had only given herself one option. "What are we waiting for then." Ashley watched as Daxton's Houndoom turned around, and was not prepared when a Nidoking suddenly joined the fight instead. At least she had a strong partner to battle alongside - and maybe it was good that she hadn't challenged him herself. The decision of who to send out was difficult. Corn would do better in general, but if the Litleo targeted her team that could cause problems. But Bean... she had no idea if he was ready yet. She hadn't even spent time with him to actually bond as teammates yet. With a soft nudge, she caught the attention of the Joltik in her pocket - who proceeded to scuttle out and down to the floor by their feet. She had to take the risk if she wanted to prove herself as an actually decent battler. "I'm ready whenever you are."

Daxton let out a low rumble in his throat when she said ready whenever you are. But he didn't give a full response, instead, he decided this poor Litleo would be subject to the aggression. "Omen! Toxic and Peck the fucking Litleo!" And as Omen spit a Toxic gob of... toxic material at the Litleo, the Poochyena was finally pulling itself free, shaking off his filthy fur and looking around, paranoid. When the Nidoking charged down the Litleo to drive it's horn into it though, the Poochyena scrambled away from that side of the fight, whipping it's head around to look between Omen and Corn. Settling on the bug, the Poochyena let out a howl- then dove forward swiftly, aiming to strike the bug and see if he couldn't startle it with the sudden lash out.
