APPEARANCE
Ashley stands at about 5'0" tall, relatively short when compared to other people. She has a tomboyish frame, with almost no curves to speak about - meaning she can easily pass for male if she needs to hide as someone else. Her white hair is cut in a messy, short style which she rarely styles. Her fringe hangs in the way of her icy blue eyes, often getting in the way when she's trying to look at something properly. Her pale complexion is dotted with many freckles, although they can sometimes be confused for dirt smudges at times due to her messy look.
When it comes to fashion, Ashley just wears what is comfortable and easy to move in - usually in red or white colours. Her normal outfit consists of some shorts and an oversized jacket that is always falling off her shoulders if she's not moving. She doesn't really care about fashion that much, and has even less interest in make-up. It's only when she's dressing up as someone else that she actually starts to put thought into these things.
Due to her upbringing on the farm, Ashley has many scars on her legs and arms mainly. She also, almost always, has grazes or smudges of dirt on various areas of her body of clothes. It's not uncommon to see her with plasters on her face covering cuts or grazes. She also has some pretty bad burn scars on her hands and lower arms from the fire that burnt down her home - these have only just healed and at times can be quite sore or irritating.

If she trusts you, then Ashley can be an extremely loyal friend and comes across as very friendly. She might playfully tease the people she's close too, but if they ever need her or ever need help then she's always there for them. If one of her friends is in trouble, Ashley will do whatever she can to help them even if it puts herself in danger. This is similar to how Ashley is with pokemon, although she has even more affection and care for pokemon over humans. The main thing to watch out for is that you don't lose Ashley's trust, and unfortunately it's very easy to do this. Once Ashley stops trusting someone, it is next to impossible to gain that trust back again. She becomes argumentative and stubborn towards that person, and sometimes just refuses to listen to them. When it comes to just Ashley in general, she has a lot of self-confidence and honestly sees herself as someone who can do anything - even if this isn't true. Once she sets her mind to something she won't back down from it, and even if she's beaten again and again she will keep trying. This is both a good thing and a bad thing, and tends to get her in difficult or dangerous situations. Ashley has a preference for grass-type pokemon, and honestly doesn't like fire or fire-types. Fire in general she has a slight phobia of, but she is determined to prove that she can beat any fire pokemon or fire-pokemon trainer with grass types - even though this will probably not work for her in the long run. Another thing that Ashley has a phobia of is enclosed spaces, and this is the one scenario that can make her stop talking and actually show some fear while she's freezing up. |
BACKGROUND

The family lived on farmland, growing crops and just generally staying away from the busier towns and cities throughout Anrui. Although their farm wasn't exactly well known, or that successful, the family got by and didn't have to struggle too much.
From a very early age, Ashley was helping out on the farm, with both crops and other daily tasks. When she wasn't working with her parents, she was just being a kid. She would climb any tree she could, get covered in mud and dirt, and just generally let herself get lost in her nature explorations. She saw pokemon occasionally, fascinated with the creatures. On multiple occasions she would get too close to a group of pokemon, only to come home with a new injury - maybe claw marks on her face or a bite on her arm. Luckily her parents were able to patch these up, and never really tried to stop her outside of just telling her to be more careful.
Ashley's parents were involved with the Resistance from close to the beginning, offering supplies and money when they could and occasionally helping to supply or hide pokemon when needed. They kept things quiet, and tried to not get Ashley involved if possible. There were times when Ashley would be sent to explore, and the house would be emptied in a hurry to make it look like a regular family farmhouse once again - usually when someone was visiting who wasn't yet trusted.
While she wasn't technically allowed to, Ashley let herself get involved with her parents secret work. She would watch whenever people were near the house or talking to her parents, and if she was alone she would entertain the few pokemon that were hidden in the home at the time.
Only a few months ago, when Ashley had not long turned eighteen, she returned home to find it on fire - her parents either missing or inside. While she tried to go in to find them, she only managed to injure herself on the flames as they got worse. While she didn't know who had caused the fire, she already assumed it was probably related to Plasma even with no evidence to suggest that. Following in her parents footsteps, Ashley decided to officially join the resistance - with the possibility that some members might also know what happened to her family.
