Resuming her writing as Raymond speaks, she taps the eraser to her chin, “Hmm, seems like a lot of work would need to go into a luxray to make it more than a 1 trick ponyta. That 1 trick is pretty powerful though. I must admit. Too bad about its crippling ability and poor learnset." As they continued walking the sound of devious feline snickering could be heard and a rather putrid odor started to overwhelm Rei’s nostrils, what were they about to walk in on? Putting her notebook away she peeks around the corner to see a meowth, and look, another shinx peering over at another pair of pokemon, one vaguely resembling what Rotsam had looked like when she had first met Raymond. The other was a pink floating thing and she was pretty sure that is where the odor was coming from. If she had to guess, the felines were poking fun at the floating thing to get it to make that odor. Their yamask friend seemed to be almost in tears over it. Neither quite seemed to know what to do about the cats.
Turning to Raymond, “So what do you think? We fighting these? Personally, I think those cats could do with a lesson in manners.” She wrinkles her nose, “And whatever that pink one is needs to stop before I get a headache. I’ll, once again, follow your lead.”
Assuming the answer was to fight Rei would nod, grabbing two balls from her belt, “Let’s do this. Go, Noctula and Wisp!” The litwick looked excited to be in combat again and their flame switched from the dark purple to a lighter blue, the noibat looks concerned about how excited the litwick is, but is also eager to fight, using its echolocation to check for items on the opposing cats. “Noctula, give us a tailwind to clear some of this stink out and then give it to them with outrage! Wisp, calm mind and then Shadow ball the shinx!” Noctula flaps their wings, creating a wind that dissipated the stink from the spritzee a little then, going mad with draconic fury, divebombs the shinx. Meanwhile, Wisp closes its eyes for a moment, focusing its mind on the battle, and then, with a wicked grin, unleashes a blob of shadow towards the shinx.

Neither of the Pokemon were carrying items, it seemed, and both of them seemed well and focused enough when the humans came into sight. The Shinx was able to, thankfully, move out of the way of the Litwick's attack, yowling in frustration as the bat, in it's blind rage, slammed into her. Both Noctula and this Shinx shared a gender though, so the rage in her eyes became apparent. With a motion to kill, ice coated the Shinx's little fangs and she snapped violently towards Noctula.
The Meowth on the other hand, dug his claws into the ground, letting out a hair raising growl towards the rage filled back before turning his attention to the candle across the field. There was a human with them, and pokemon the humans had with them usually had something on them. Scheming, as usual for a cheating Meowth, he dashed towards Wisp, claws out aiming to strike and see if he couldn't snatch something off of the Pokemon.
Ray blinks and notices the smell, and then the Spritzee, making a 'huh' sound. "Looks to be a double battle, yeah? Sadly I can't do anything about the Spritzee's smell. It doesn't smell too great, so it's probably got a shit diet." The fighting nearby though, had driven the other two Pokemon into defense mode, and Raymond locked eyes with them. "Double battles are fun, but tricky- when a pokemon dodges, it can only use a single move, so be careful how you fight with upclose and personal Pokemon because that can leave them open for- Watch out for that Ice Fang!"
Raymond shouted as soon as he noticed the frost forming around Shinx's mouth. Grabbing two Pokeballs with practiced ease and tossing them out towards the Spritzee and Yamask, keeping the corner of his vision on Rei's side of the field. "Anything one side does or the other will fully effect the field. So for example, if I had a pokemon that could use earthquake, it would hit everything on the field that isn't floating."
"Tokoyo! On the Yamask! Garshasp! Start on the Spritzee with Leer and follow it up with Metal Claw! Tokoyo! Use Knock Off on the Yamask!" Raymond called out, and as his Duraludon fixated a look on the Spritzee and charged forward, his Wingull was already on the move to slam into the Yamask as hard as possible.
Raymond took a breath and huffed. "If one Pokemon goes unoccupied for too long, it can also get messy. They can get impatient or be left with too much time to scheme on how to split your Pokemon up. Unless you got a strategy set up for it, it's dangerous to split your team mates too far apart on the field. It's always best to make sure the opponent's Pokemon doesn't get between your two Pokemon." He'd seen a lot of matches lost in Orre, he'd even seen someone strike their own pokemon when the other trainer's Pidgeot sped out of the way of the attack. "Seen a guy lose back in Orre cause he split his team up."
If Noctula lived to tell about it, at least he could fly out from between two Pokemon. But with him stuck in his outrage, they'd have to see. He adjusted his backpack and took a breath, time to focus for Raymond. There were eight Pokemon to watch on the field. More wild than a triple battle!
