PERSONALITY
POSITIVE - ADVENTUROUS - FEARLESS - INDEPENDENT - GOOD-MANNERED - MOTIVATED NEGATIVE - UNTIDY - HARSH - SELFISH - RESENTFUL - PATHOLOGICAL LIAR | Emma can be adventurous wherever she goes, never able to sit in one spot for too long. Even as a small child, she would follow her brother around wherever he went without a single question about it. Perhaps this was the reasoning she had for following him into joining the Resistance. It is a good thing that she is also practically fearless, the only thing getting to her being death (or the possibility of it). She loves to fly, skydive, and doesn’t think twice about helping others when it comes down to illegal things. Never having to need someone to make things easier for her, Emma has always been much more independent than she should actually be. When she hit fourteen, she started doing under the table work and eventually made her way to a paycheck job. She wanted to help out her parents, while also giving out donations to the Resistance (not openly of course). This independence has caused her to be as well-mannered as she can be, needing it for that customer service at work. Due to this, many customers and co-workers believe her to be a sweet thing, always smiling and helping others. However, they are only partially accurate. Speaking of helping out others, she is always motivated into doing things, keeping herself busy, and fills up her schedule as much as possible. The only time she stops moving is to sleep and the second she is up and eats her breakfast, she is on the move again. She takes up missions and will stop on the side of the road to help others simply to keep her mind off of doing absolutely nothing. She fears of becoming a couched potato. Training her Pokemon is a team effort, including her own energy being used. However, the one thing that she cannot be motivated to do is keep her area and things tidy. Her bag is a mess, as if a burrowing Pokemon came through and decided to tear apart her bag. As she doesn't keep it neat, fighting can be a difficult process, where she is spending more time looking for a potion than she is actually healing her Pokemon. If she has time before a fight, she will pull out everything that she may need, just in case. However, it can give her opponent the upper hand in knowing just what she has to work with. At times, Emma can be a little bit harsh to others, especially when they get on her nerves. If you are pointing out the obvious, she will point it out in the most polite way she can manage, many not realizing that she is dripping her words in a sour way. She also tends towards being selfish, mostly when it comes to platonic relationships (as she practices polyamory). Perhaps it was because her brother was killed when she was younger, but if she can get someone to bend to her will, she will do it without a second thought. She may be trying to do this to keep them safe, but it is certainly not a healthy thing she should be doing. Resentful is a good way to describe how she feels about the people who surrounded her brother's death. He died young - too young - and she absolutely hates everything about it. She sometimes spends her time looking into who may or may not have played a part in his death, letting it eat up a majority of her time, rather than just allowing herself to heal from it completely. As a direct result, she is rather closed-minded about people who come from Team Plasma, even if they are simply there for reasons not their own. However, she is trying to work on this after recent events that have happened in her life. |
BACKGROUND
It was like a completely different person had taken the shape of her brother in their explanation. Lukas, falling in love with a Plasma member, dating for two years. Two years of a Lukas that she didn't even know about. Everything within her began to hate Plasma more than ever, most of her hatred fueled at this Riley Arrington that had caused the death of her brother. In her mind, she told herself that there must have been something that Riley did to trick her brother. As the whole family dealt with the death of Lukas, her parents rallied to the Resistance cause and Emma spent a week in mourning, hardly touching her food and wearing only black clothing, the silver ring hanging from her neck as a reminder of what she lost.
As the years passed, Emma spent most of her time looking into the events surrounding Plasma and learning how to fight. She had never been good at it beforehand, and she was even worse when given instructions. Still, she kept her head up and stayed determined to win. On the side, she would work at restaurants and hotels, starting with under the table work to a paycheck every week. She would donate to those at the resistance, would help her parents with their bills, and the rest would go to her fighting lessons.
She did little else than that for those years. Just roughly before hitting nineteen, she headed up to one of the Resistance bases so that she could start some work there before getting her starter Pokemon. When she heard the news that a Riley Arrington had been captured, her heartbeat fast in her chest and she felt as if she couldn't breathe. The reason for her brother's death was within her grasp. She could kill him, get her revenge for what he did. But when she listened in on the conversation between him and the Resistance brother who was holding him up in one of the rooms, Emma's plan to kill Riley faltered. When she was asked to take new clothes to the room for the man who had created her hate, she spotted the scars on his back. When she asked him what had happened, he told her, "I loved one of your people and I paid the price for it." And then, quietly: "I wish it had been me instead." Emma had left in a hurry, tears beginning to spill from her eyes as she moved away into the hall and farther down.
Her thoughts kept her awake all night for several days, thinking of what the right thing to do was. What Lukas would want? She didn't know what got her to her feet, what pushed her forward and had her sneaking through the base, taking her to the room with the Pokemon that were taken from Plasma trainers, grabbing some clothes in the process and a large backpack that she stuck them into. She waited till she spotted Ashton walking out from the room, the door locking from the outside. As quickly as possible, she set the bag down next to the door and cracked the door open loudly. She hid around the corner again, watching and waiting but Riley took no time to check the hall, realize what was happening, and leave the base. She returned to her room afterwards and in the morning, she heard the commotion of those who were angered that Riley had escaped, some of them blaming Ashton for the results. She simply yawned off the situation and went to pack her bags, her time at the base over and began heading to the lab to receive her new Pokemon and start her journey.[/ul][/div][/div]
