Daxton was back at it, granted, he didn't have as much energy as he would like, and the exhaustion on his face from all the travel was showing under his eyes by the line tucked just under his bottom eyelid. Signs that his eyes were puffy from said exhaustion. But he didn't give up, he still had the energy to do his job, and he'd do it right. That's why he was out here in the fucking Casulari River, a place that he had heard Zeus rant about many times.
Something about almost being eaten by a Carnivine...
Either way, that's why he was out here. Boots somewhat muddy and Thresh beside him making low growling noises at the amount of mud that was coating his paws. Thresh was just a rude little asshole though, so Daxton disregarded that for now. Even if the gnawing sensation on his ankle was any sign that Thresh was through being in the mud.
They were only able to stumble fifteen or so feet before Daxton was forced to submit and put the raging dragon back into his ball before he up and caused a fucking injury. Besides, that ankle is an iffy little shit and he doesn't need it absolutely wrecked.
There was a break in the rain though, and a perfect opportunity. Tossing Gaichu's ball into the air, the Pidgeotto formed and Daxton waved his hand towards the bird, a signal to scout around where he was standing. "As long as the rain holds up." He finally mutters to his self, head tilted back and weight slowly rolling back to rest against a tree. Back out looking for Plasma or signs of Plasma, and actually hoping that the wild Pokemon were ok.
If the furious Hawlucha with bloody nesting material meant anything along the lines that he thought it did, then he didn't want to think about it anymore than he had to. So he just waited and listened.

The green and brown material was propped up at an angle, supported by a rope that was strung from a nearby tree to a stake in the ground. A set of rocks held the bottom flaps against the ground, and for the most part, the shelter was keeping Giuseppe dry. [Break][Break]Across a small clearing, a similar shelter covered a pile of kindling, as well as some larger pieces of wood that he had gathered earlier that day. What little moisture snuck in past the tarp was quickly dried from the warmth of the houndoom laying peacefully beside it. Between the two of them, they could see from most angles, and what they couldn't was covered by the frogadier who had situated herself on a tree branch above them, happy to be greeted by the rain. [Break][Break]Giuseppe's trip to the Casulari had started innocently enough. The jungle was one of the regions of Anrui that he most enjoyed, and he often returned to the river when he needed the focus to make important decisions. In this case, he had only planned on passing through before making his way to an area more suitable for the training he planned to partake in for his younger pokemon. However, upon entering the jungle, he had immediately felt that something seemed off, and after coming across a grizzly sight involving rampaging pokemon, he had decided to find a relatively safe location to pitch camp so that he could consider his options of how he could help, or if he would need to return home first. [Break][Break] Eventually, the drizzle of rain petered out, and Giuseppe pushed through the thick, heavy jungle air, out of his shelter and in to the clearing. He stood for no sooner than a few seconds before Edge landed before him, having gracefully leapt from the branches above. Her blue skin shimmered with moisture as she pointed to a pidgeotto soaring into view. [Break][Break]Giuseppe's eyes narrowed. The pidgey-line was not native to this area of Anrui, so it was likely a trainer's, and the last thing he needed was to be caught off guard. Signaling for his pokemon to scatter, he moved quietly to the bushes behind his tent and crouched. He needed no reassurance that Bond had chosen a different set of shadows to hide in, while Edge had nimbly made her way back into the branches above them. Daxton blinked when a droplet of water fell from the tree he was leaning against, he remained mostly lost in thought, surrounded by nature and it's somehow lonely silence despite the sounds of numerous wild Pokemon. He hated it. Frowning at the tree above him, he moved his self off of it, looking to his Pidgeotto returning after circling over him once.
Looks like Gaichu had spotted something. So with a heavy sigh, thankful that he didn't have to sit there and think, he followed his bird through the skies, coming to a halt along the path when Gaichu landed and looked over to that space. Nothing. Either Gaichu was being stupid again and pointing out a place with berries cause they were a hungry little shit, or something was camouflaged and movement had given them away to the Pidgeotto's eyes.
"Gaichu, if this is about food. We're going to have a talk." Daxton warned, stepping towards where the Pokemon had looked. Making sure he wasn't stepping where there was clearly moved foliage, oddly piled spaces or tightly drawn tripwire. "Someone here?" He asked at first, then let out one last sigh.
"If there's a badge holding bitch in these bushes somewhere, either run so I can chase you down to beat your ass, or come out and make it easier on both of us. Just try me." He boldly announced, angry, icy blue eyes scanning the area around him. He was too exhausted to try stealth, and wasn't properly equipped for it. Besides, he was observant and a weapon's expert, not stealthy. He left that shit to the actually stealthy people.

[nospaces] [googlefont=Roboto:400,400i,700] [newclass=.vagrantPost]--vagrantAccent:#4c4c4c;[/newclass] [attr="class","vagrantPost"] [attr="class","vagrantHeader"] [attr="class","vagrantBody"] Giuseppe noticed from his hideout in the bushes that the pidgeotto had turned around and doubled back - surely a sign that it was heading back to a trainer. The fact that his campsite had been spotted hadn't surprised Giuseppe, as he hadn't had plans to hide it from an aerial point of view. Even if he had wanted it to be hidden, he knew that the pidgey line boasted extremely good eyesight, and it was likely that the pokemon saw him and his team moving anyway. Patiently, he hunkered down in the bushes, his good eye along with all of his other senses trained mostly in the direction that the pidgeotto had headed, but not so focused that he'd miss another pokemon or traveller approaching from a different direction. [break][break]The thought of the pidgeotto's trainer coming to find him in the jaws of a wild Casulari pokemon because he had been too focused on watching for a human almost made him chuckle. [break][break]After a few minutes, his assumptions were proven correct as the pidgeotto reappeared, this time with a human in tow. He inspected the other man, noting his height and build, as well as the weapons holstered onto this shoulders. He seemed young (or at least young er), which immediately put Giuseppe on high-alert; not all young people were trigger-happy or quick to throw punches, but the ones who were often made situations much more dangerous than they needed to be. If this guy didn't leave his camp, he'd need to handle the situation delicately so as to not get shot, or need to fire his own revolver. [break][break]The man made it abundantly clear that he would not be leaving so soon when he spoke, calling out into the jungle. The manner in which he spoke - seeking a "badge holding bitch" - piqued Giuseppe's interest, as at the very least he didn't think this man would arrest him. He supposed he could be taken as a Resistance prisoner, but he wouldn't make a very good hostage. Plasma wouldn't even know he was missing, let alone bother to send anyone to rescue him, and he'd likely annoy his captors enough to get himself wacked quite quickly. [break][break]Figuring it best that the man become aware of his presence sooner and of his own volition, he looked down and spotted some berries growing from the bush beside him. Grabbing at their branch, he made sure to make some loud and obvious rustling noises as he ripped it from the shrub. Then, slowly, he stood up, speaking all the while with a smile not only on his face but in his voice as well. [break][break] "Salve! Sorry to disappoint, but I am not the 'badge holding bitch' that you seek." His good eye kept watch on the man for any sudden movements or signs of unease. If none were present, he'd slowly and calmly make his way from the bush. "Mulberries?" he offered, popping one of the berries into his mouth as he presented the branch. For just a second, he glanced towards the pidgeotto. "Or I have some birdseed if your bird would be interested."[break][break] [attr="class","vagrantNotes"] if daxton attempts to leave, [break] giuseppe will attempt to make [break] conversation in the next post. [break] specifically, he'll want to know [break] if Plasma is behind all of the [break] rampaging and damage.

Daxton furrowed his brows, watching the man extend a branch to him and putting a hand out to stop Gaichu for a moment longer. "Who are you and why are you out here? Don't you know wild Pokemon are acting.... well more wild?" Daxton asked, giving up to let his bird hop in front of him, muttering something along the lines of "gaichu you fatass."
The bird seemed interested at the word bird seed, clicking their beak and tilting their head while their master stood behind them to make a disgruntled noise. "Uh. and no. No thank you." Daxton shook his head waving a hand at the Mulberries. He carried around his own provisions, and didn't eat random things offered to him by strangers in the middle of the woods that seemed to be freshly plucked if anything.
While he didn't mind eating wild fruits, berries and plants, he preferred if he not fall into any trap like that or risk potential getting sick when he's got his own pack full of stuff that he can safely eat without the risk of falling over into stomach pain.
But here he was, being offered a stick, and finding his self distracted from the goal at hand. Whatever, he was curious, and this rando could probably tell him if he's seen anything out of place or not.

Fine then, more for him. As he allowed time for the man to react, he popped a few more of the juicy bulbs into his mouth, hoping the action would not only serve as an affirmation that he was “unarmed,” but also act as reassurance that he was calm, collected, and not here for an altercation. Men on the defense generally didn’t waste their time munching on jungle fauna. [break][break] ”My name is Giuseppe Esposito,” he responded after swallowing the juicy goodness. Really, this man was missing out on these berries. ”I am just a simple outdoorsman, trying to enjoy nature.” He paused. Technically, that wasn’t a lie - he really was just out here, trying to get some peace and quiet in what he considered one of the most dangerous but beautiful areas of Anrui. He supposed “simple outdoorsman” was simply more of an understatement than a lie. [break][break] ”I say ‘trying’ because I have noticed that the wild Pokemon have been more zealous lately.” Something told Giuseppe that this stranger knew more about the situation than he did. Normally, he’d do what was needed to encourage a stranger to continue on, but curiosity was a powerful force, especially when the safety of Anrui’s wilderness was at stake. ”You wouldn’t happen to know why, would you? I have a guess, but I don’t want to make any… false accusations.” More like he didn’t want to get thrown into a Plasma war camp just for suggesting that they were up to something. Daxton rubbed the back of his head and took an annoyed breath, watching Gaichu do his own thing, which typically included foraging for food. The bird shouldn't be able to fly with how much he eats. Whatever. Growing Pokemon and what not. "Ngh. Well I'm Daxton." He kept it short and sweet, furrowing his brows together in thought. He couldn't tell him too much, obviously, but he could easily get this person on his side or at least near it by the sounds of things. He'd be happy to be doubly paranoid while out in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere.
"Thinking some assholes are tampering with the wild Pokemon, from what I've seen. Wouldn't spread that theory aloud though. Probably keep that to yourself, yea? Yea." He's caused enough trouble for plasma by participating in kicking them out of the Zoo, and he was generally an obnoxious presence. Saying this to some rando could be an extra bit of shit but see if he gives a fuck if it does anything or not. Look upon the field blah blah find it's barren and what not.
"Could use an extra eye and hand out here, if you're looking for troub- I mean. Yea. Trouble. That's generally what I cause." He muttered the last bit mostly to his self and huffed, looking back at the other man. Hadn't he heard about- ... no. Probably not. If he has heard of this person, it's faint and not significant enough. He usually remembers the type of people that'd cause him trouble. So he stood there and let Gaichu go about his business, waiting for an answer with both of his hands hanging by his side. It was too stuffy to put his hands into his pockets anyways.

Despite the sunlight shining down through the branches, leaving dappled spots that might otherwise help a pokemon to blend in, her blue color stuck out amongst the green leaves to the point that Giuseppe was sure that the bird had seen her. Quick so as to not draw attention to her, Giuseppe's focus moved back to the man to inspect him as he spoke. [break][break] "Ngh. Well I'm Daxton."[break][break]Giuseppe's eyebrows furrowed. A vision of blonde hair and broad shoulders swam into view, and his stomach tightened in a way that he hadn't felt for several months. Clenching his fists, his head dropped in an effort to escape the familiar, soft voice that whispered in his ear, only to have it replaced by this new Daxton's. [break][break]He welcomed the distraction. Focusing on his mouth as it commanded each syllable from his lips, he found himself hearing, but not entirely understanding. Still, he got the gist of it - whatever was happening, or whatever would happen, it'd be between them. "Yea," he said in response, his mind latching onto his own voice as though it was his only hope of coming back to the present. As Daxton continued, he found himself more able to comprehend what was being said, and the word 'trouble' cracked a smile over his lips. [break][break]Giving a glance to his camp, he shrugged. "I have nothing better to do right now," he responded. In truth, he had accomplished most of what he had planned to do for the day. He had enough dry wood stocked up for a fire later, should he need it, and he had foraged throughout the morning. Popping another berry into his mouth, he smiled at the man. "I am willing to help however I can."[break][break]Taking a few steps forward, he tilted his body so that he could see past Daxton to where Bond had crouched, hidden in the bushes. With a head nod, he summoned the houndoom out, his casual and calm posture and demeanor eliciting a similar one from the pokemon. Purposefully, he kept his viewpoint tucked downwards, away from Edge in the trees. Giuseppe had no reason not to trust this man, but he also knew better than to trust initial impressions. Daxton rubbed his face and shifted his feet, nudging Gaichu to send them up into the air. Pidgeotto had incredibly good eyesight, and since the man had his own Houndoom, it was better than another pointless nose on the ground. Gaichu took off into the air and Daxton gave the Houndoom a glance. "Nice Houndoom." He said passively, adjusting his jacket, tightening the belt on his pants and huffing out some annoyed... huff.
"I'm not stupid enough to jump into shit blind, as stupid as siding with a rando in the woods makes me look. So I guess I say we should see if you don't remember where you last saw those Pokemon were." He asked, stuffing his hands into his pockets and leaving them there. His posture was annoyed and tight, as always, so that had never changed. It wasn't anxious, more over the tense muscles of a man looking for something to start a fight with.
"It's better than wandering around like a dipshit all day. Start somewhere instead of guessing we'll get lucky and bump into some ass, or get unlucky, as usual, and bump entire some whole fuckin encampment." Daxton's tiny hope was that they'd find one of the wild Pokemon in question, and there would be some asshead with a badge doing something to mess with it as proof, raging proof.
Or there'd be some asshead with a badge around doing something that he could beat up and either drag away or question on the spot. WWZD. What would Zeus do? Don't know. Man made no sense sometimes, and always seemed to act more on whim and instinct than pre-meditated actions. Maybe that was the key to his "relative" success. Just. A raging survival instinct.
Well, Daxton had that. Just none of the luck involved that he swore had to be involved.

[nospaces] [googlefont=Roboto:400,400i,700] [newclass=.vagrantPost]--vagrantAccent:#4c4c4c;[/newclass] [attr="class","vagrantPost"] [attr="class","vagrantHeader"] [attr="class","vagrantBody"] "Thank you," Giuseppe responded, smiling down at his dog. He and Bond had been through quite a bit together, and the only times that he was found without him nowadays was when they purposefully needed him out of sight, hiding in the shadows, always watching. Truth be told, he was incredibly fond of the houndoom, and the very fact that he wouldn't be around forever was something that Giuseppe tried not to think about. Bond would put his life on the line for him, he was sure of it, and he was also sure that he'd put his own life on the line for the dog right back. [break][break]While Daxton's posture remained tight and annoyed, Giuseppe remained relaxed. Generally, he didn't like teamwork, and he most certainly was in no mood to be bossed around by some guy he met in the woods. However, he did have a natural inclination towards pokemon, and was actually quite concerned about why they had been acting so suspicious lately. Potentially putting a stop to any misery being caused by Plasma was much more enticing to him than working with this brute would be annoying, and just because he followed direction didn't have to mean he was following orders. [break][break] "I have seen quite a few pokemon acting oddly over the last few days but..." he thought about it, before turning to his right, towards the river. "The closest to camp would have been a clutch of poliwhirl. They were a good bit farther from the water than I have ever seen a poliwhirl wander, but what was more suspicious was that they were actively heading away from the river." He tossed the last few berries in his mouth before nodding his head in the direction that he had seen them.
