APPEARANCE
Howl is a fairly handsome guy who is naturally blonde. But he often dyes his hair, usually to black. Or whatever he felt like at the moment, neon colours are not an unusual sight on his head. But one thing that always stays the same is his shoulder-length bowl cut.
His hair is usually pretty messy because he can't be bothered to do anything to it, other than a brush. His overgrown bangs often cover his face, until Howl bothers to cut them. He always cuts his own hair and let's say results aren't always great.
He has big bright blue eyes and always has a smile on his face. Howl has a bit paler complexion because he only burns in sunlight. And his skin burns quickly unless he uses a strong sunblock.
Howl is about 6 feet tall and he has quite a lanky build as he is terribly out of shape as he doesn't do any proper exercise. Howl's only form of exercise comes from him jumping from one place to another when he gets excited.
Howl favourites expensive and fancy clothing, but he also values comfortable clothes. He wants to look good in his clothes, but also wants to be able to chill in them. So he usually orders clothes that are a size too big so they fit him loosely. So most of the time Howl wears a casual fancy white shirt, black shirt and black shoes. Or clothes from his sponsors to advertise them.
Howl also fancies jewellery and rarely goes out without his necklace and earrings.

He meets mean comments with a genuine smile and doesn't take even the harshest criticism to heart. He is almost overwhelmingly confident, but he doesn't come off cocky. He is just a guy who is very comfortable in his own skin and happy with that he does. He isn't the smartest guy there is, but Howl is always a well-meaning idiot. He always faces new challenges and ideas with enthusiasm. Even the simplest things like planning an amusement park. And sometimes his excitement makes him come off pushy as he won't shut up until they do the thing. He doesn't mean anything bad with it, but Howl just doesn't have an off button. Growing up rich made Howl grow up quite wasteful and he doesn't understand the value of money. If something breaks, Howl buys a new thing instead of fixing the broken thing. Even if it would be cheaper to fix it, like a cracked phone screen. And if he sees something he likes, Howl immediately buys it without caring how much it is or how useless the thing is. For example, he paid money to become a knight of a micronation in the middle of the sea. Why? Because Howl thought it would be cool to have knighthood and a certificate signed by a real prince. But Howl doesn't have a problem sharing his wealth. He is happy to buy things for his friends so they can experience the fun thing together. It's the way he shows his love towards his friends. Or by offering to cook for them. And one doesn't even need to be a close friend of his, he does the same for anyone who he thinks to be his friend. Like a dog, Howl trusts anyone who is nice to him. And it's very easy to take advantage of him and his kindness. He is a bit naive and isn't very aware of the bad things some people are capable of doing. Howl is a pretty messy person and leaves a trail of disorganized chaos after him. Dirty pots and pans are often left on the counter because he got distracted with something else. It's not a new thing for his food to be burnt or undercooked. Howl does what Howl wants and there is no time for research. He lacks many common life skills and he isn't very keen on learning them. Why learn how to use the vacuum cleaner when you can hire someone to clean your place? It's also somewhat of a miracle he is even alive anymore. Howl is a bit of an idiot, but he is a very lucky idiot. And there is no use to explain to him the dangers of salmonella as Howl believes nothing will happen to him. He has eaten medium-rare chicken many times and nothing has happened. So why would it happen now? This same mindset also applies to about everything in his life. |
BACKGROUND
Howl originates from the Castelia City in Unova, where he has lived most of his life. He was the only child of two busy parents. His mother is a well-known celebrity wedding planner, a true businesswoman called Savannah. She married her high school sweetheart Sage who became a famous actor in his early twenties. Because of their careers, they were often too busy to spend time with their son. So to show their love, they bought Howl anything he wished for; the new shoes, a pony... a new puppy. Only the best would do to their son.
While his parents were away, Howl's eccentric godmother Angelina looked after him. She was an artist, not that well known, but he wasn't in for the popularity. Lina just wanted to paint. And to make things easier, Howl's parents had allowed her to transform one of their empty rooms into a studio. So she could continue working while looking after Howl.
Even though his parents were absent, Howl still grew up feeling loved. He might have been lonely in reality, but that is not what he felt. He had his godmother and pokemon to play with. Since he was homeschooled, he didn't meet a lot of other children of his own age. Of course, he sometimes met his relatives or other rich kids at his parent's parties. But he never became close friends with any of them.
When Howl grew older, his parents sent him to a fancy private boarding school. Where he finally made friends with people of his own age. His two besties were Brooke and Tom, and to this day he still keeps contact with them. Tom was also from Castelia City, but Brooke came from Kalos.
And almost every summer vacation the two guys went to visit her in the Lumiose City. In their late teens, the trio got a bright idea to start making videos together.
The first videos were typical webcam vlogs where they talked about random things. Or tried random challenges. But little by little their popularity grew and now the three are big names online. Tom became a famous video game streamer. And Brooke became a loved beauty and lifestyle vlogger. While Howl kept doing... whatever he felt like at the moment. His content was always all over the place, but people came to watch it for his personality. He also often featured his friends on his channel.
This newly found popularity and money Howl earned himself inspired him to move out. But to show their support, Howl’s parents regularly gave him money ‘to get by’ and they still do. They support their son, even if his career choice is a little strange in their mind.
Howl is perhaps the most known for his 'HowlToBasic' video series. Where he shows his disastrous cooking such as a medium-rare chicken recipe. He is very passionate about his cooking and thinks he is an amazing chef, but it is a miracle he hasn't died of food poisoning. His followers often point that out and make fun of his cooking. But Howl meets the mean comments with a big smile, joking back and thanking them for an honest critique. Nothing is enough to bring this man down. He loves what he is doing and is too confident to let mean people bring him down.
Howl wanted some change in his life, the old Castelia was getting a little boring. So on a whim, he decided to move to Anrui without doing any proper research about the place. It didn't take a long time for Plasma to approach him and ask if he would like to join. They hoped that a social media influencer like him could attract new recruits to their ranks.
