APPEARANCE
Axel is a tattoo'd, scarred, dark skinned male. His hair varies from neck length to a short, almost pixie cut style hair cut depending on when the mood strikes. Usually, he just keeps it trimmed at neck length and doesn't bother it except to brush, wash and put it in a ponytail. His eyes are green with ocular Rosacea.
He's muscular, but not with rippling abs. He's got a layer of fat over his muscles, deceiving just how strong he is. When he isn't cooking or drawing, he's probably doing something active. His attire usually consists of tank tops, basketball shorts, jeans, tennis shoes, boots or even barefoot.
His tattoos vary from numerous stitches, barbed wire, ground, dragon, steel and dark type Pokemon on his arms, back, one of his pecs and his left thigh. The most prominent tattoos being his Rhydon on his right shoulder, being the one that people see the most thank to his tank tops.
He refuses to get his ears pierced, but does occasionally have some cuffs he may or may not put onto his ears depending on the occasion. Axel also has a few steel arm bands that he may wear on his biceps.

PERSONALITY
| POSITIVE - Quick-Witted - Loyal - Logical - Stoic - Brave NEGATIVE - Blunt - Irritable - Realist - Volatile when angered - Difficult to read | Quick-Witted: Axel hasn't always been good at thinking on his feet and doing so quickly. As he grew up, he learned how to do so up until the bust. Current Axel can though, and it shows in his competitive battle and fighting style. Loyal: In most cases. If he hasn't pledged any sort of loyalty to you, he will stab you in the back, but when he's decided he's with something, he sticks with them. In the past, it was for the gang before they broke up, and now, it's currently just to himself. Logical: Axel is not an irrational thinker, at least not anymore. Now when it comes down to something, if there's something wrong with it, he'll probably see it and decide against it. Jail sucked and there's literally no reason to saddle his self back into that place, so why would he take that stupid risk to rob a joint? Stoic: In stressful situations, Axel doesn't crack. He stays straight faced and next to unreadable when shits hitting the fan. He can put on any face he wants, but stress doesn't break him... unless you're yelling at him while he's cooking. Then he'll just yell back. Brave: It is what it says it is. On top of being stoic in stressful situations, Axel usually won't back down from them either. He'll also open-hand carry a non-deadly spider around. Blunt: His tone isn't always the best, and neither is his general attitude. He'll tell someone straight to their face and prefers not to beat around the bush. There's a reason he works well in a hectic kitchen and has no friends outside of (formerly) some gangster idiots. Irritable: Axel is a generally irritable person and anyone that meets him on his day to day basis would probably swerve him. A large, angry, tattoo'd man walking down the street is usually enough to do that. He's easy to irritate whether he shows it or not. Realist: He's a realist. Simply put. He is neither pessimistic or optimistic about 99% of things and sees most everything in a realistic point of view. He even prefers math because of this as it allows him to predict the outcome of some things. Volatile when angered: When he surpasses the limit of his irritability, he goes straight to rage-y. It's difficult to tell which way he'll go when he's pissed off. He can easily go from silent and brooding to snapping and throwing something. Difficult to read: He may be stoic in stressful situations but he's also generally difficult to get a read on. It's hard to tell if he's in a good or bad mood. Or if he's in either, which way that mood will even go. When he's talking to you, he's also obscure and doesn't really care what vibe you get off of what he says. |
BACKGROUND
Axel started off in Virbank city with a runoff mom and a fucked up dad. Which made his childhood an easy slope straight into Virbank's gangs. Skipping school, ignoring pretty much any authority and striking back when he was hit, especially at home. All of this violence in his childhood led straight to him getting busted when he was 16, a young gang member helping commit a basic theft as a way to get started.
His basic theft was on police bait and wound up getting the older members killed while he was arrested with a dislocated shoulder. He was sentenced to a basic four years in prison and given a therapist for his time there... And while he was there, he wound up getting into a clique in the form of a young prison gang.
Most of his growing up happened in prison with the shitty food, uncomfortable bed and drafty as hell cells in Virbank's prison. His therapist struggled with his stubborn ass trying to get as far as she could with him until eventually uncovering that he had a talent for drawing and a passion for food that he was never allowed to explore while growing up.
He was finally allowed to explore these things in the prison. He was simply incarcerated for theft and being involved in a gang, and had proven relatively non-violent while in there. But things aren't always rainbows for Axel. When he was 18, he got into a prison yard fight that wound up maiming his face, giving him some deep stab wounds and damaging his arms as well, with the other person using some glass that they had managed to sneak past the guard's detection.
Axel broke his face, quite literally, and was taken to the hospital where he was treated, and when well, placed back in prison for the rest of his time there, not having any time added for the fight that happened.
Considering himself lucky, but not quite into this whole 'good boy' thing, when Axel was released, he decided to play on what little luck he had and find an old smuggling ship he knew about. Easily enough, on the promise that he'd do the cooking on the ship, he was taken to Anrui and dropped off in Hyo, where he was left on his own to wander around and try to find a job. He was homeless, for now, but he'd find his way.
