Unfortunately, Olivier's assumptions were incorrect. When she released her pidove, Chris grimaced at it, with the slightest of head shakes. While Olivier could still have interpreted the action as one that suggested he didn't want to battle, his next decision nearly cemented the idea that a battle would be unavoidable. [break][break]
"So that's how it's going to be? Alright... Eugene, get that bird down here. Use water gun and harden!" he commanded through gritted teeth. It was obvious due to the hushed tone that he spoke in that he was still trying not to alert those outside of the storage room. [break][break]
A few clicking noises clattered out of the krabby's mouth as he raised his body towards the direction of Sweets, who was perched on top of a stack of boxes. The crustation's exoskeleton shimmered for a moment as it hardened, raising his defenses.The bird twitched and turned his head at the sound that the krabby was making, but otherwise did not move to avoid the water gun. The stream of water was shot from the krabby's mouth, making a direct hit on the pidove, who reacted with a loud squawking noise as well as a fluttering of his wings. While the attack didn't knock him from the boxes, it certainly didn't mean he enjoyed it, as evidenced by his reaction. Olivier noticed that Chris had glanced up at the loud bird before looking over his shoulder, as if to check to make sure the door behind him had not opened.[break][break]
Olivier had no qualms with being noisy, and at this rate she had a feeling that it might be in her favor. With projection in her voice, she commanded her pokemon. "Use growl and gust, Sweets!"[break][break]
With a stubborn refusal to remove himself from the height that the boxes lent him, Sweets opened his wings and began to flap them, summoning up a small gust of wind which he sent spiraling towards the krabby, and along with it several loose items that had been in the room. Raising her arms to her head, Olivier blocked herself from being hit by any of the renegade debris. As the bird flapped, he let out a charming little cooing sound to help lower the other pokemon's attack, however Olivier had no way of knowing that the growl did not have the desired effect. Regardless, wind, trash, and even a small tool or two pummeled the krabby.
