OLIVIER LIESL VON WILHELM.
THE FLOWER POKEMON
AGE | GENDER | ALLEGIANCE | OCCUPATION |
EIGHTEEN. | TRANS GAL. | PLASMA | FARMER |
APPEARANCE
Olivier is a small girl. She's always been rather dainty, and she currently stands at about 4'11, and anywhere from 100-115 lbs. Her frame is slender and slight, and upon first glance probably fairly weak. However, having had a rather active life and an interest in health, she's rather healthy. She'd need help lifting heavy objects above her head, but she can hold her own otherwise. Her body lacks most curves and body fat, and her chest and hips are small. Some particularly judgemental people sometimes comment on the fact that she has a child-like body, a comment she usually passes off with an awkward laugh before crying about later.
She has blonde hair for days; she really only cuts it in order to trim the dead ends. Typically, she prefers to keep it up in two buns with pigtails falling down from them, however when she is going to do physical work, she'll prepare by braiding the pigtails and then pulling them into one larger bun. Her hair is parted in the middle, and a set of bangs as well as a few loose strands frame her face. Her bangs have an annoying habit of parting in the middle as well, something that she has yet to figure out how to control.
Her face is expressive, and she's usually either smiling or crying. Her eyes are large and blue as the sky, and they take on a watery look when she gets upset. Her skin freckles rather than tans in the warmer months. She is no enemy to sunscreen, and uses it fairly often. Her favorite makeup has SPF protection, which she mostly uses in the summer. She loves different colors of eyeshadows and eyeliners, and always wears a little bit of blush. She is also quite fond of jewelry, typically wearing at least earrings and a choker of some sort.
She prefers stereotypically cute and feminine clothes, especially if flowers are included. Her favorite color is baby pink, although she also occasionally wears some harsher, darker clothing. Bonus points if the darker clothing includes flowers. That being said, the lack of fat on her body keeps her quite chilled, and she's known to wear hoodies over her stylized clothing.

PERSONALITY
POSITIVE - independent - incessant - conscientious - health-conscious - straight-forward NEGATIVE - crybaby - rigid - introverted - overliteral - blunt | If there was one thing that the Farm taught her, it was the value of hard work. Growing up, Olivier watched her family work hard each day, and she was able to see the direct fruits of their labor. She knows that if she wants something, she has to work to earn it, and that no one will hand her what she wants for free. Ollie is the perfect fit to the phrase "I'll get over it, but I'm gonna cry about it first." Make her laugh? She'll cry. Make her feel sentimental? She'll cry. Sad? Scary? Angry? Cry. Cry. Cry. It's not always an immediate cry, and it's not always a full out sob; sometimes it's just a sprinkling of tears, and sometimes she'll hold it in until later, when it's more convenient. Make no mistake, though - she will cry. Overall, she is a soft little bean who is frightened easily. That being said, her tendency to tear up at the smallest thing does not make her weak. It does not make her unable to take care of herself. Once the tears have fallen, she is able to pull herself up by her bootstraps and keep working just as hard as she had been. In fact, Olivier is actually very independent. As a young child, she never felt the need to share or bond with the other kids. Growing up, she was always introverted in her classes. She realized quickly that if she spoke too much about her interests, other kids, as well as the teachers, would get bored or annoyed. Her siblings didn't make her feel that way, but the feeling naturally translated to home. She wasn't sheltered as much as her older siblings, and she wasn't babied as much as her younger siblings. She grew up with the ability to depend on and take care of herself. One big thing that Ollie does struggle with, however, is her lack of tolerance for change. She prefers her activities to remain very regular and controlled - even the smallest surprise change of schedule can throw her off. She will take a decent amount of time to transition into the life of a Plasma Grunt, however she looks forward to being in full control of what she does, as well as the when and how. She plans ahead like it's her profession. Olivier also struggles with recognizing irony and sarcasm. She is a very straight-forward person who does not joke a lot, and does not find a lot of humor in the small things. She will be honest with you about how she feels, and sometimes lacks the ability to see how her actions and words effect others. Some interests of hers include grass pokemon and rock and roll music. Ollie is very upfront about her love of rock and roll music (more specifically a band called Led Drifblim), but her love of grass-types isn't something that she's actually aware of. She's also interested in health - such as exercise and healthy eating - an interest that stemmed from growing up with a whole food diet. Olivier is panromantic. While she is pansexual as well, one of the side effects of her HRT is a lower libido. She is also polyamorous! |
BACKGROUND
A middle child with several siblings on each side, Olivier was born into a warm and welcoming family. Her parents are farmers, both taking part in and managing each portion of the farm together. Not only do they grow a variety of crops, but they also raise several varieties of livestock, not really specializing in one produce. With a job that never ends and that involves managing many workers, on top of raising a relatively large amount of children, its safe to say that her parents are quite the busy sort of people.
Her family suffered their first major setback when Olivier was about three years old. ROT had already been rumored to have begun spreading throughout the region, and although her parents kept their pokemon in impeccable health, it was only a matter of time before the government began to overregulate the farms. They were forced to cut down on their livestock by a detrimental amount, and they simply did not have the space to make up the lack of income with crop production. Due to the decrease in income, they also couldn't afford the amount of workers that they originally hired, and unwilling to pay an unfair salary, they gave many of them the option to leave. Olivier was never unwilling to work with her family, however this was the main reason why she was unable to attend public school full time.
Instead, Olivier only attended specials with her public school classmates. Her parents drove her to school each day to attend one class - gym, art, music, computer, or library - and then visited the market in town. By the time she was finished with her class, they'd have picked up what they needed and would take her back to the farm.
As a very small child, Olivier didn't speak much. She developed verbally later than her other siblings, preferring to communicate more with gestures. When she did begin to speak, it was limited, and it involved a lot of repetition. Her speech improved when she began to socialize with her peers. Unfortunately, her start of interacting with peers her age also signaled the beginning of her gender dysphoria.
As a small child, her worldview was limited. She knew what she liked - she liked having long hair; she liked light colors, especially hues of pinks and purples; she took more interest in her sister's toys, clothes, and interests than she did her brother's. Her parents, being quite open minded people and having far greater concerns than whether or not their boy toddler liked "girly" things, didn't pay much mind to it, as Olivier seemed happy.
In her classes, though, she was bullied for the way she presented. They thought it was weird that she had long hair and liked how it felt to wear dresses; they told her pink was a stupid color, and that jewelry was for girls only. She realized that although everything had been fine at home, the rest of the world had a very distinct view of what girls and boys were supposed to look and act like. After only a few weeks, Olivier began to become irate at home, often insisting that she was a girl, and feeling disgust at her physical body. She began to continually push "masculine" things away, such as her brothers' race cars and action figures. Her parents noticed various other small signs about her, and they began to consult the school guidance counselor, who asked to have a small meeting with her twice a week.
The counselor introduced her parents to the idea that their child was expressing body dysphoria, and gave them some recommendations. After a lengthy year or so of struggling with their son being bullied at school and being uncomfortable at home, they offered to begin using feminine pronouns to refer to her, and generally began treating her like they did her sisters. At school and with her permission, the counselor had a session with her class about body dysphoria and what it means, how it feels, and what they would do moving forward. Olivier was even able to announce her preferred name to the class. The following year of school, and all of the years moving forward, Olivier was more comfortable with herself.
As she approached puberty, her counselor recommended different doctors for her, and she began taking puberty blockers. She visited a variety of doctors and therapists, and it was decided in her midteens that she would begin Hormone Replacement Therapy.
When Olivier was sixteen, her family experienced their second major setback. A fire began on their farm one warm evening. It began somewhere within their fields, and spread very quickly - almost too quickly - to several buildings. Most notably, the large barn where the majority of what livestock they had left was badly damaged, and several pokemon were killed in the fire. Plasma suspected arson, and based on several other fires in the area, they suspected that it was someone from the Resistance attempting to sabotage them in order to harm Kain City.
Other than requiring them to cut down the amount of livestock they owned, Plasma had always been good to Olivier's family. They assisted them where they could, and Olivier's parents were frequent board members in their town. The accident with the fire, however, was one that they could not prevent, and they were unable to cover the damages that had been done. The school raised several fundraisers in order to help the farms in the area, but this setback was not one that they could recover from any time soon.
So, now that she is eighteen, she is setting out to join Plasma as a source of income for her family. She doesn't believe in ROT, but Plasma has always been there for her family when things got hard, and they had sympathy for them when the fire burned half of their farm. She believes that she can better the government from within, and hopes to better the public opinion of Plasma.
