Daxton Raymer
THE TURNED POKEMON
AGE | GENDER | ALLEGIANCE | OCCUPATION |
Twenty | Male | Resistance | Offensive trainer |
APPEARANCE
He's 6'4, pale skinned, white haired, blue eyed and muscular build. His hair is kept short enough to not cover up the every constant angry emotions written onto his face. He's almost always glaring at someone and finds that it's a waste of energy to bother trying to smile at whatever sorry bastard that winds up across from him. He occasionally brushes his hair, but the style is mostly unkempt.
He carries two large knives, shoulder holstered. One black and one white, both of them very heavy with large grips. They're always sharpened and the holsters are specialized so that it takes a practiced grip to pull the knife free. No one can just walk up and take the weapons off of him without tugging on the holsters and his upper body.
His upper body has a violent scar on a shoulder, jagged from where he was wounded during a fight to claim his baby son from a volatile environment with his father and mother in law. The rest of his body is also peppered with varying scars from playing with steel type Pokemon. Don't ask where they come from though and he'll instant grump his expression and glare you down.
One very specific scar above his ankle brings back memories of someone he'd rather not think about.
He still wears the usual heavy boots, black cargo pants, his red jacket and fingerless gloves. There's a lot of weight to his attire, but he moves as if he's wearing nothing. He's just used to it.

PERSONALITY
POSITIVE - Observant - Decisive - Straight-Forward - Possessive - Flexible NEGATIVE - Short tempered - Rude - Cold - Shut off - Depressed | He's become an odd mix of things. Many of his fun loving traits have been sapped from him due to the death of his twin and the loss of custody. He's changed, considerably, having become more observant of things. He spends much less time thinking on what to do, and is much more focused on solving the situation and reacting to it without hesitation. He no longer lazes his way around things, and would much prefer to get the job right and to get it done quickly. He's flexible, making him adaptive to numerous types of situations. The only thing he really can't adapt to though is when something requires extreme academic skill and he just can't outright break his way through it. He leaves these situations to his partner resident psychic type. He's more survivalist, weapon specialist and strength than he is brains. He can tell you everything about different weapons, but he can't solve equations to save his life. He's possessive of what he has now, and will become enraged should anyone trespass on what he thinks is his without his permission. He'll round house or drop kick the first idiot that thinks they can touch what's his. He's turned into his father in the terms of temper and anger control. He's quick to fly into a rage and lose his patience. He will harm anything that pisses him off and he won't give a damn that he's harming it. While there are exceptions to this rule, they're rare. It's difficult to calm him down from this rage, and like a Primeape, the odds are is that he won't be satisfied until he's beat the hell out of whatever angered him. But he's depressed. No one sees it, but he's in deep, emotional pain. He hides it from everyone, the only people that can see it probably being his own mother. He won't talk about it, and adamantly refuses when anyone tries to make him talk about it. Anything more than a couple of pushes on the subject can send him on an angry rampage at the nearest object or person. |
BACKGROUND
He's been to Anrui before and it's hard to explain why he's coming back. Daxton's always had kind of a complicated past. He has a father that spent a good amount of his childhood, physically incapable of remember most of anybody, specifically his family. Thankfully, said father has remembered them for a while now and is incredibly loving despite his violent tendencies. His mother, when Weston had lost his memory, remarried to another man and that's what gave him and his twin brother, Dayton, their last name "Raymer". It stuck and it never came off. Mostly for their family's sake. They legally had the names, they would use them.
Dayton was sent off to a mental institution for most of his life, turning Daxton into a trouble child. He acted out, far away from his identical twin, and caused constant waves of trouble. He was sentenced to Juvenile detention a couple of times throughout the course of his teenage years, and he was marked for his violent and aggressive nature.
This violent and aggressive nature is an exact mirror of his father's, and it eventually led to him leaving to check out Anrui to raise hell. He started off in the resistance, and to be honest, wasn't quite sure why he was there. He raised hell, he even helped take over the Kain Zoo for the Resistance during one of their attacks. But he wound up leaving. His father fell deeply ill, one of his best friends was practically dead and he had a son that needed rescuing. Daxton gained a gnarly scar his self while saving Dakota, and it was worth it. For the most part.
Daxton was stressed, living on his own with his son, helping his mother if the need for emotional support ever cropped up, balancing helping Dayton's mental state due to his status as a non medicinal anchor and trying not to lose his mind watching his friends and family suffer. Browley lived though, and his father started improving, especially with the introduction of the new prosthetic limbs. Or it was going good, until CPS took his son away. Luckily, Sable and Weston landed custody as the only living relatives, but Daxton's temper was at it's boiling point.
The Kierkegaard mirror became uncovered when Daxton flew into a rage. After Weston and Sable picked up their son, Daxton left numerous holes in the walls of the room his son used to sleep in. His father was strong enough to pull him away from the wall and lay down half way on him until he calmed down from his rampage. He stayed with him, helped him pack his own stuff and fell asleep on the couch with him watching various movies.
The next day, they started his move into Dayton and Jilly's cottage so he wouldn't have to be alone. It was difficult with his damaged hand, but he powered through, ignoring the heavy bruising. Things picked up for a little while before they crashed back down hill. Dayton had a seizure in his sleep and when Daxton came inside from cutting down trees and chopping firewood, Dayton was dead.
The emotions were a strange mix at first. It started with silence. A complete shut down. Weston and the others tried everything they could to elicit a reaction out of him but nothing reached Daxton's conscience. He doesn't remember what happened next, but according to the others, he blacked out in a rampage and they just sedated him so they could move him. He woke up, restrained for everyone's safety while Osiris was checking on his condition.
He shut down damn near entirely, the only reason he didn't entirely lose it was because he chose to travel. He traveled around almost aimlessly, using his friend's home in Dewford as a place to stay while he just got away from where he had lost Dayton.
At the end of things though, when he decided to go to Anrui, Weston passed on three Pokemon he had obtained from a friend to Daxton. A Metang, nidoran male and a Houndour made up his team as he made his way back to Anrui. He only had his Pokemon and his temper, but he did have plans. While he may be stupid, he was a child, still technically learning. They had allies in Anrui, so if worse came to worse, he knew they'd have his back.
It was the only thing he could think of to do. All he could feel was unending rage at the world.
