Dark. Dusty. Quiet. If Khat had to describe Kairo Town using only three words, those are the words that she would use. Every time the Black Arboks visited Kairo, she was continually surprised at how much dust there was. This town was literally like one of those old cowboy towns that you see in western movies, where people visit the saloon after a long day of work on the ranch, and where people willingly have gunfights in the street. She supposed the people here must have liked being dusty, because no matter how hard she tried she couldn't get the dust off of her.
'Maybe that's the real reason this place is a ghost town,' she thought as she approached her mark. It was an apartment complex, only three stories tall. Her goal was to get to the third story, sneak in, find some rare stone called benitoite, and get out. Or at least, that was the gist of it. She had to make sure it was the correct gemstone of course, and from the sound of how rare it was, she would need to take extra security precautions.
She walked to the side of the building and glanced up at the fire escape. That would most likely be the easiest way to get in - since the bottom was so far off the ground, it was probably rare that someone would be able to reach it and climb up, so why bother locking the window? Unlike most people, though, she had a giant staff with her, which would easily allow her to pull the escape down.
Before she did so, she decided to double check that she had everything she needed. Kneeling, she set her staff on the ground and pulled her backpack off of her shoulders. Opening it, she first pulled out a pokeball, releasing her weedle. The bug pokemon looked up at her silently. "Guard duty," she muttered to the bug, and she nodded, turning around and looking about the small, dusty alley they were in. Qadira wasn't the strongest pokemon of the bunch, but she was one of the quietest and most likely to obey her commands, and right now that was what she needed.
She pushed her other pokeballs to the side of the bag and rifled through the rest. A crowbar, wire cutters, a center hole punch, a screwdriver, among other things. It was all stuff that she had gathered over the years that she found useful in most theft situations. Then, at the very bottom were her two eggs, wrapped in a large black blanket to protect them. She unwrapped the top of the blanket, making sure there weren't any cracks yet, and then wrapped it back up and put her supplies back into her bag.
She stood, glanced over to Qadira to make sure she was still on alert, and then looked up at the fire escape. She picked up her staff and turned it over so that the key-end was facing up. Carefully so as not to bang the metal staff on the metal fire escape, she hooked it onto the escape and tugged down expecting it to fall down to the earth.
It didn't.
Annoyed, she rubbed the black balaclava that covered her head and face and then began to search for any part of the fire escape that jutted out. If she found one, she could possibly hook the top of her staff to it and hoist herself up.

Kairo town must have been the last place for the girl to try to do any kind of performing; it was like a living ghost town and it set the burned girl on edge. Being careful of her bag on her back, she walked down the street as people glanced at her. Her long black hair was pulled back into a loose braid in such a way that it looked like she had short, cropped hair. Instead of her usual bandages to cover her right eye she had a black and red checkered bandana covering the blind eye; another, similar bandana covered her mouth so she didn't breath so much dust. Moving the the duffle bag she was carrying in her hand to her left stopped and looked around, sighing.
This wasn't a good place to perform and it probably wasn't a good place to set up a temporary shop; she had the worst luck when it came to these things in Anrui and she probably had enough skill or even friends who could help her escape the region but she just couldn't think of actually doing it. She had too many friends here and she really didn't have anything to lose now other than them and her pokemon and no one would touch her pokemon unless they wanted to feel the burns she had suffered by mistake long ago. Setting the duffle bag down she looked around as she tried dusting her skort, trying to get the dirt and dust off with no help at all. At least she was wearing black for the most part.
Mirissa shook her head as her left gloved hand picked up the bag and she continued to walk looking around, especially for an ally like way to set up camp. She could've set up camp outside of town but she felt as if it was probably a little safer inside....though her feelings have told her wrong before. They told her to stop again now and she did, looking around as she felt like she was being watched. It was probably her imagination in all reality and the bag on her back began to move and even open it self up with a white fuzzy head poking out and staring down the side of the building while her trainer, who was usually more alert glanced around in the opposite direction.
Phoenix had happily been keeping the five eggs in the bag warm; there was just enough room for them as the fire trainer had specifically bought a very large bag for such occasions to make sure the eggs and the fire bug were happy. There was one small egg that Phoenix kept an eye on as she was worried about it, unsure if it was supposed to be that tiny as all the eggs she encountered seemed pretty normal. All seemed fine until the movement stopped again and curiosity drove her to poke her head out and stare down the only way she could. She blinked at the sight she saw, unsure what to make of it but her usual urge to crawl out and over to the new person in front of her didn't come; she felt protective and the fuz around her seemed to stand on end like fur as she silently stared at those in front of her, her trainer still seeming to be unaware.

Qadira, her little bug pokemon, was alert and watchful, but unfortunately only had two eyes and they were both located on the front of her head. So, while the weedle marched slowly from end to end of the alley, there was quite a large amount of time when whatever was behind her went unnoticed. It would have been better, perhaps, for the weedle to stay in one spot beside Khat and just look around, but she was young and inexperienced, and that wasn't very fun now was it?
Mirissa's appearance at the opening of the alley happened while Qadira was marching the other way. This, combined with her primarily black outfit, caused the two to go unnoticed for quite some time by both weedle and trainer. Khat was too focused on trying to find a point to pull herself up onto the fire escape to notice the stranger.
Eventually, though, Qadira did turn back around, and in the light of the bigger street's lamps she saw the two. She let out a nasally cry, but then silenced herself when she saw Khat's expression. Khat, not realizing that that was the stranger-danger alarm, turned to the weedle and shot her a glare to effectively shut her up. She wasn't about to get caught breaking and entering because her weedle wanted some attention.
As quick as the bug could move, Qadira scrunched up to her trainer and tried to gesture to the person at the end of the alley, making more small nasally grunts. Eventually, Khat sighed whipped her head around to find---
A person.
Quickly, she pulled her staff down shoved herself against the wall, trying to blend in with the shadows. The other woman was looking away... had she been noticed yet? She noticed her bag was also sitting in the middle of the street, and she quickly reached forward to grab it and pull it in the shadows. She picked it up quickly but gently, careful of the eggs inside.
Qadira meanwhile, glanced at her trainer, and then attempted to follow suit as best as she could.

Phoenix watched the weedle intently as it marched and then turned around to see her and her red and black cladded trainer. It let out a cry to perhaps to alert its trainer that there was another here. The larvesta really didn't know what to do at this point but to drop back down into the bag and cushion the eggs with some warm, silky string. When she came up her trainer hasn't yet turned but the larvesta knew that her trainer had been alearted and was only trying to figure out what to do. Mirissa had been too distracted trying to figure out where to go from where she was and it wasn't until she heard the nasaly cry that her body tightened and she froze. Thoughts were going though her head fast and she wished that she had stored one or two other eggs and bought more pokemon. Truth was the girl didn't really know what this town was going to be like until she got here and there was no safe place to make a transfer at the moment. As she slowly turned around, her larvesta climbed to her shoulder while doing her best to keep an eye one where the other bug went. The other trainer, who ever it was, seemed to have hidden themselves in the shadows and Mirissa, who often traveled at night and probably usually would have an easier time spotting them, didn't seem to see them. Her right eye, which was covered, was closer to where the hidden were and thus they were in her blind spot. Phoenix let out a low, protective sound and all the burned trainer could do was offer a calming hand to the bug. "Who goes there? I know you there so just come out...." The traveling performer really didn't know what to say in this case and she did her best to become relaxed and calm instead of tense and on edge.. female s.c fennekin w/ hypnosis 2/10 (plus 4 more because this thread making it 6/10, if that is alright x.x i forgot about that thread) female absol w/ flamethrower, dark pulse, rock smash, toxic 4/15 female totidle w/ blizzard, dragon dance 4/15 male s.c meowth w/ spite 4/10

Khatijah sighed and closed her eyes for just a moment. That woman and her other bug had definitely heard her weedle's cries. Opening her eyes once more, she glanced down at the young bug, who was looking up at her with large, sorry eyes. While she might have been tied for the highest leveled of Khat's pokemon, she certainly wasn't the brightest.
Knowing full well that this heist was done in for the night, Khatijah pulled the balaclava that had been covering her head off and shoved it in her bag on top of the supplies and eggs. She reached up with one hand to undo her hair, letting it fall gracefully down around her body, while she unzipped the chest area of her jacket to go from zero skin showing to showing a decent amount of chest. Her tight, black pants and boots would hopefully just give off the impression of someone who likes black. Now that she looked slightly less burglar-ish, maybe the thought wouldn't pass the other woman's mind.
She left her bag in the shadows, along with her staff. Stepping out, she beckoned her weedle to follow her. Weedle in general weren't considered a strong species of pokemon. If there was a risk of this other girl being Plasma, it would be better not to hide the weedle that she obviously had at this point, but also not to show the fact that she also had other pokemon, as well as eggs. And the staff? Well, that was just suspicious for her to be carrying around, so yea. That can stay in the shadows too.
"I'm sorry if my weedle's screeching scared you," she said, quietly although not in a whisper. "She get's frightened quite easily."

Phoenix blinked a bit uncertain before going back into the back pack with the eggs to check on them briefly before once more returning to the shoulder; she didn't like being away from the eggs they had for a long period of time. She was currently Mirissa's only strongest pokemon out, regarding in experience at least; little Mercedes was still young and hadn't really gone though much training yet and that was probably the reason Mirissa brought her along instead of Ama or Kagu. It took awhile for the other trainer to step forward and Mirissa couldn't help but glance her up and down.
She was bi-sexual but it was rare that a female often caught her eye; in this cause her outfit didn't help her case. Adverting her eyes to the bug next to the other female so she wasn't staring, she gave the bug a friendly smile. "Oh no, it is fine really. I wasn't expecting anyone else to be honest.." Phoenix eventually climbed down Mirissa's side and looked at the other bug and inched a bit closer but still very much a distance away. Apart of her still very much wanted to greet at least the other pokemon.
The burned trainer looked her up and down and removed the bandana covering her mouth and tucked it into her pocket; she wasn't going to remove the one from her eye yet. "I didn't mean to startle you and your little weedle, I believe it was more of my fault," she seemed sincere with her soft voice as she spoke and she offered a kind smile that....also seemed a bit shy. "My name is Mirissa and this larvesta here is Phoenix."
She then glanced around behind her and on the street before looking back at the other female, a frown on her face now. "Where you hiding from any one in particular?" Her bag seemed to move on her back and she glanced behind her again but more so at her back pack; in what seemed to be a quick movement that a bug could do, the larvesta climbed up her trainer and crawled into her bag again where the moving egg laid, hidden and shaking as it was close to being hatched.

Not a single cell in Khat's body suspected Mirissa of checking her out. She was a single woman living with a band of male thieves. She could easily recognize the subtle, and sometimes not so subtle, signs of attraction in men, but a woman? It didn't cross her mind. In fact, she took the woman's once over as something anyone would after her appearance from the shadows, and she returned the favor, admiring the other woman's color scheme. She was curious about the woman's bandanas and whether or not they had a purpose other than fashion, but figured it might be rude to ask.
Qadira smiled up at the other woman when she looked at her. All in all, she was a friendly bug - a stark contrast from her first two siblings. When the larvesta began to make her way down her trainer's body, Qadira looked up at Khat longingly, hoping to go meet the other bug. As Mirissa spoke, Khat glanced down and gave a small head shake. She wasn't sure if they were out of trouble yet, and she didn't want to risk losing her weedle.
The woman removed one of her bandanas and continued to speak. For a moment, Khatijah could only focus on the other woman's burns, but she quickly pushed them out of her mind. It was rude to stare. Instead, she smiled back, her white teeth glistening in the darkness.
With a glance or two down the street, the girl asked if she was hiding from someone in particular, and Khat quickly realized she needed to think on her feet. "My name is Khatijah, but you can call me Khat," she began, buying herself time. "And this is Qadira." There was a small gesture towards the weedle beside her, who was still looking longingly at the other bug. She needed to think fast. What other reason would she have for hiding so quickly if it wasn't due to hiding from someone?
"Yes," she nearly blurted out after a pause. But who? "Yes, I'm hiding from... An ex-boyfriend. He usually heads back from the saloon about this hour." What time was it? Was the saloon even open this late? She had no idea. She lifted a hand up to rub the back of her neck, continuing. "What are you doing out this late? You're dressed really nicely." Was that awkward? She couldn't tell, but her heart was beginning to beat a little harder.

no scorching sun nor freezing cold
"Khatijah? That is a very unique name,"and on top of that a gorgeous one. Mentally shaking her head at the unspoken thought she tilted her head, listening to Khat speaking and not really noticing the brief stare of the burns on her face. She frowned at the mention that he was hiding from an ex-boyfriend leaving the saloon around this time. So a drunken ex-boyfriend most likely. Abusive? Probably. She her self never had to experience such a thing but many of her connections she had made had and she often heard the stories from them; it was the story of these men's - some times even women - actions that dug deep into her skin and it bugged her and she often wanted to give them a good smacking. At the comment of her clothing being nice she blinked, surprise at such a comment.
Before she could speak or even move the larvesta once more emerged from the bag, tugging at a lock of hair on Mirissa's head, making a worried sound. The burned trainer frowned and glanced at her bag thinking quickly; one of the eggs must be hatching and she was still slightly left in the open. "One moment Khat," she whispered, moving more into the enclosed path and away from the street she positioned her self to try and keep her self hidden from anyone else other than Khat and she took off her bag from her back. Crouching as she moved the bag to her front to open it she peeked in at the eggs and Phoenix looked at the other bug and trainer, unsure as if this was a safe place or not. "I was looking for a place to set up camp and to well...hatch my eggs quietly."
The egg that had the larvesta so worried had been wiggling and cracking and soon a snout poked out as it was lifted from the other eggs; setting it gently on the ground next to the bag Mirissa glanced at Khat with a small smile before looking at the egg again. Soon the baby fennekin pushed her way out, looking around blinking a bit at all the new things; Phoenix cralwed over to the baby and seemed to glomped her almost, giving her warmth and a friendly, motherly hug.
"Perhaps we could keep each other company until it is a bit safer? I don't think I like the thought of a drunken ex-boyfriend wondering around..." And in truth she didn't and the urge to protect this random stranger was strong and it wasn't just because of her looks - even though that helped a bit - but because Mirissa is some one who always wanted to protect other people in her own..little awkward ways. But a thought did ocure to her that maybe she was Plasma but, maybe she wasn't. Not every member of Plasma harmed neutrals or resistance. In a soft whisper she spoke again, "Don't worry...I won't tell any one about your weedle, I'm not with plasma or the resistance and I truly mean no harm."
will stop me on my journey

Khat couldn't help but let out an amused gust of air when Mirissa complimented her name. Most people did think her name was unique, although some people weren't as kind with the adjective that they chose to describe it. Still, she couldn't complain - in a world full of Tommy's and Becky's, 'Khatijah' was certainly a name that was new to almost everyone's tongue. She could only imagine the look on the faces of those who dislike her name for its uniqueness if she told them her full name was Khatijah Amir Kareem al-Malika. They'd probably but an artery just trying to comprehend it.
She grinned at the thought.
Before Mirissa could otherwise answer, the little larvesta climbed out of her bag. Khat's grin dropped slightly, and she and her weedle watched in curiosity. So she had eggs in that bag? Khatijah's interest piqued. Pokemon were sort of a new thing for her, but ever since she had met that woman in Coryn's lab, with her giant black charizard, Khat had been becoming more and more interested in the creatures. That charizard was strong, intimidating, and showy - everything that Khat aspired to be.
Slowly, Khat and Qadira followed Mirissa and Phoenix back into the alley that they had hidden in earlier. Khat threw a glance towards all of her stuff, hidden in the shadows. Hopefully her excuse about hiding from an ex-boyfriend was enough to distract Mirissa from the fact that she was carrying around some suspicious items, if the girl even saw them.
'Hatch my eggs,' she had said - plural - just before a small snout had popped out of the one of them. Khat returned Mirissa's smile as she watched the baby emerge and Phoenix proceed to tackle it. She almost stepped forward, warning Mirissa that that might not be a good idea, but apparently it was a gesture of kindness. Her thoughts drifted quickly back to when her ralts and ekans had hatched - her ekans had attempted to eat the ralts egg, and then the ralts had attempted to beat the shit out of the ekans upon hatching. Maybe they were just assholes, though.
Qadira began to inch forward to investigate the newborn, and Khatijah allowed her. Mirissa offered for them to keep each other company, bringing up the ex-boyfriend. Khatijah couldn't help but smile - for someone who she had only just met on the street, Mirissa was very kind.
Khatijah nodded. "I'm not with either of them either," she said, turning up her nose a bit at the thought. There were various reasons why neither group held her interested, the biggest of which being that she was already busy just trying to impress her boss. She cast a glance up to the window that she was supposed to have broken into and sighed slightly. She turned towards the shadows that held her stuff and reached for her bag. Leaving her staff still hidden, she took her bag over to Mirissa and sat down.
"Never have, never will be," she continued, opening her bag away from Mirissa so that there was no chance of her spotting her equipment. She glanced inside, checking on each of the eggs. None of them even gave a wiggle. She glanced at the other woman's bag, and then at Mirissa. "How many eggs do you have in there?" she asked quietly.

i would bring you rings of gold
The female fennekin squirmed a bit from all the attention but then eventually gave in to the affectionate mother bug. Sitting back she thought for a bit before picking up the fox like pokemon and held her up so they where eye to eye. "I'm going to name you Inari," she murmured before having the pokemon go into her pokeball and she looked over at Phoenix who huffed a bit before going to the other eggs who, too both the bug and the trainer's surprise, were also cracking and beginning to hatch, a bit more slowly than the first. Sitting back she glanced over at Khat who dragged her bag into the open as well. Did she have her own eggs? Not thinking too much on it, as the other female would share if she wanted to she turned back to the eggs, watching them closely.
"Well, I had three others in this run, two of them weren't expected to hatch until much later by the signs but it seemed that Inari started a bit of a hatching spree," she said with a smile, leaning back as she glanced back over. "I don't think I will officially join any of the sides either to be honest," a sigh before she continued, "but I do not deny anyone my breeding or hatching services unless they cause me too much trouble."
Phoenix looked at her trainer and then over at the weedle, squirming a bit happily and in excitement as she looked back at the eggs and gently nudged them happily, encouraging them to hatch. It wasn't long before a blue snout poked out and lunged out of the shell entirely, making the fire bug squeak and squeal and hide behind the other bug in terror of the sudden action. The totidile turned to the other hatching eggs suddenly and lunged at one, trying to get its jaws around one of them. The fire trainer, who jumped at the sudden action quickily took the baby totidile out of the open and into her pokeball as well before too much more commotion could happen.
"Well then, she is going to have fun with this one..." she murmured to her self, stashing the pokeball away and sighing, glancing at the egg it tried to eat. A male meowth clawed its way out of the egg, its eyes wider than normal for a bit as it process everything that happened before he too was also taken into a pokeball. The third egg took a bit longer before finally a small, baby absol tumbled out. It too was also also put into a pokeball and Mirissa sighed, almost seeming exhausted out of no where.
