[attr=class, nameplate]MASOZI H. LUNGU [attr=class, apptrait]THE PIRATE POKEMON [attr=class, apppadding] [attr=class, apptitle]APPEARANCE Masozi's a short little girl with dark skin and big blue eyes. You'll only ever see one at a time, given her preference to keep one covered. She says it's to keep one eye adjusted to the dark just in case, but most people think she does it to look more like a pirate. She has short, puffy hair that's a faint red in the light. She keeps it back with a cloth hair band, which is a nice Plasma shade of green. Her favourite outfit has the same shade throughout it; most prominently a large expanse of material at the top, which she wraps around her neck to keep up. She likes her clothes with different colours and patterns, and really can't understand why anyone would want to stick with jeans and a plain old t-shirt. She's a lithe girl made of muscles and smiles, with a surprising proficiency with a sword. She'll sometimes carry one with her, sheathed and tucked into the material around her waist. It's also where she keeps her pokeballs, as well as other things she thinks she might need. She modified it herself, and thinks it looks much nicer than the belt her crew use. [attr=class, apptitle]PERSONALITY Growing up on a ship on a tight knit ship meant Masozi got as much attention as she could ever want. It also means that she's wary of strangers. After all, most strangers she encountered were the bad guys – the resistance – trying to smuggle Pokemon in, and they weren't above some pretty violent attacks on anyone stopping them. She also gets overwhelmed easily, because all of the noise and the people smells are so new to her. Despite being timid around all these landlubbers, she's a a daredevil. When she's fighting she'll gladly use damaged halyards to swing across to the other ship and take them by surprise. She's got no fears of heights or downing or bug types or anything that wimpy. As a result she's often scraped up but - aside from a few minor incidents where she almost died - she's never hurt too badly. Around friends she's playful, often making jokes and playing silly games. It can be a bad thing. She's been accused of being childish and stubborn which, given that her last disagreement ended when she blew a raspberry, is absolutely true. She says she refuses to believe it, but she's still prone to be insecure about it. Growing up with a bunch of sailors means that, even though she doesn't really like to swear, she can swear like a motherfucker. She can also hold her liquor better than most twelve year olds, but that's not something she likes to partake in often either. Some of the younger members tease her about it, so she's gained a thick skin against insults. Masozi is ambitious, especially about discovering the Anrui. She's only really seen the harbour, and even then it's only been a few times. Her love of reading has her excited, and she expects all the excitement that her books offer. She's going in to this open minded, and is going to try her best to come out of it knowing more than she does now. Even so, her self interest trumps all. So far it's obvious that she hasn't thought this through very well. She's got rather poor planning skills, at least for long term events. She hasn't got any way to contact her family – or the rest of the crew, but they're family to her anyway – and if she gets homesick she'll need to wait until her ship comes in to Hyo's harbour. Good thing she's too stubborn to give up quickly. [attr=class, apptitle]HISTORY Masozi was born at sea, with relatively few complications for such a birth. Her mother had insisted that she wasn't due for another month, but the crew's doctor had been keeping a close eye on her anyway. With a newborn on the ship and no proper way to care for her, they rushed back to land. They stayed just long enough to get supplies, then headed out again, both out of necessity and want. Everyone on the ship helped raise her, from learning to talk to learning to use a cutlass. She learned rapidly, and soon requested to learn to read. Once she started she was hooked. It was a good thing, because weeks on the sea without so much as a gameboy would drive most people mad. She didn't learn to swim until after she fell in the water in a raid. The water almost swallowed her whole, and it was amazing anyone had even noticed her missing. She was fished out and given her first Pokemon; a Lapras found on the opposing ship. With someone always watching over her and a Lapras looking after her, Masozi learned to swim in the endlessly deep ocean. And that's how things continued for years. Reading about big adventures, taking Pokemon from Resistance ships, and learning more about person-to-person combat than Pokemon battles. Her Pokemon have always been treated more as pets, but now she wants to change that. Really, she wants to change everything. She's gotten tired of sea life. She'd been a Plasma grunt from a very early age, but now she's going to try it out for real. She's nervous and buzzing with excitement, ready to see the land and cut of the demand for illegal Pokemon. Oh yes, she's ready to take down the Resistance single handedly. [attr=class, apptitle]MISC.
