[attr=class,apptitle]Conner is a bit of tall guy. He doesn’t exactly tower over others, but he does need to look down a bit in most conversations. As for weight, he’s around average, but with just enough muscle to show he’s not afraid of a bit of work. There are numerous scars on his body, reasons ranging from hurting himself as a child, to a certain event where he was beaten up. The biggest one runs up his left arm, from his elbow almost stretching to his shoulder. It’s the reason he’s not a big fan of wearing short sleeves. His skin itself isn’t exactly dark, but still dark enough that it’s obvious it’s not just a tan.
His hair can be seen as anything from brown to dark red, depending on the light. It’s shiny in a way that says he uses too much conditioner and not enough shampoo. The style could be described as a Beatles hair cut, that’s threatening to become a mullet at the back. His hair covers his eyebrows entirely, but he likes it that way, even if it does get his eyes a but. There’s also a bit of a cowlick he can’t seem to flatten down, but he’s gotten used to that.
Underneath this hair is his face, of course. He has large, rounded eyes, with short eyelashes around them. His eyes are a very dark shade of green, and are often mistaken for brown thanks to just how dark they are. His cheek bones are really quite prominent, and drop down to a square chin. His nose is much larger than average, and his thin lips exaggerate that even more.
When it comes to clothes, Conner generally just wears a long sleeved white shirt and a pair of black jeans. In colder weather, or if he’s on a motorbike, he’ll also put on his leather jacket. The jacket’s a little small for him, but he’s honestly too lazy to go and get a new one. It’s black with orangey-red stripes on the shoulders, down the zippers, around the bottom and around the centre. No matter what the outfit he’ll wear sneakers. He’s got no reason to wear anything fancy.

[attr=class,apptitle]PERSONALITY
[attr=class,apptxt]( likes ) most food, having friends, cars, building things, pokemon, books, technology
( hates ) history, hostile people, the fact he can't talk, being out of the loop, when his mew is a bitch, technology being difficult
Conner is quite the happy boy. He’s often smiling, though it’s not like he’s always smiling. He’s pretty expressive, really, and maybe he has to be because he can’t talk. The only one who thinks they know why is him, and everyone else things his reason isn’t the greatest. He believe that a person can only say so many words in their life, and he’s simply used all of his up. This stems from something he once heard about the heart having a predetermined amount of beats. The heart couldn’t be the only thing, so, naturally, everything abided by that law.
Perhaps it’s already clear, but he’s got quite a strange set of beliefs. In addition, there are still basic things that amaze him. Growing up in Fortree meant he didn’t know much about technology, so things like games and cinemas are still things that make him ridiculously excited. Along the same line are things like whipped cream in a can, or little tubs of frosting. He’s gotten into the habit of buying these things and just eating them as though they were a whole food. Sometimes he’ll but something to go with them, like carrots to go with his frosting or celery to go with his whipped cream.
He’s quite the fan of cars. Ever since seeing a car for the first time Conner has been in love with them. One of his first goals once he gets to Anrui is to get himself a car license, followed by getting himself a car. He’s got a bit of money from his older days as a Pokemon trainer, so he has enough to get himself a fairly good one. He’s also thinking of getting a motor bike, which are a bit more convenient a Pokemon trainer. He thinks he might get a job as a mechanic for a while, if he can, because he’s also insanely curious about what it’s like to have a laptop of your own.
Conner often uses sign language to talk to others, but, unfortunately, a lot of people don’t know much sign language, if any at all. Fortunately, he has a translator. He has a Mew, or, rather, a Mew follows him around. She likes to tell other’s Conner’s secrets, or say things that he’d never say out loud. She’s a bit of a sassy little creature, and often does things for her own amusement. Despite that, the Mew and Conner are quite good friends.
While Conner likes having friends, he’s not really sure how to make them any more. If he could talk it would be a lot easier, but finding people who know sign language, or are fine with the fact he has a legendary Pokemon to speak for him without question are hard to come by. He’s almost given up, especially after a long, awkward ferry ride to Anrui.
It may seem odd, but he’s got a bit a paranoid streak in him. He second guesses almost every thought he has, worried that it sounds stupid. That’s hardly anything when compared with the fact he carries a knife wherever he goes. It’s an intimidating thing that set him back a fair bit, but he knows he needs to be able to protect himself if anything bad ever happens again. He tries his hardest not to let it show, and sometimes he even manages to forget. Large groups approaching him sets him on edge. Actually hurting anyone would take a fair bit of provoking. He’s also got a bit of a fear of Absol, but he tries to keep that to himself.
He’s a bit of a romantic, but, at the moment, doesn’t want any sort of relationship. In fact, he actively doesn’t want so much as a crush on anyone, because last time that happened it ended rather badly. Still, he likes watching romance movies, just generally alone.

[attr=class,apptitle]HISTORY
[attr=class,apptxt]Perhaps the most influential part of his history happened long before he was born. His parents were deeply in love, though their religions clashed. They didn’t see it as a big deal. At least, not until they needed to decide how to raise their children. After a while, and a fair few arguments, they decided that they’d let their kids make up their own minds. It seemed only logical to move to a place where it didn’t seem to matter: Fortree City. The people there were nice, and, with few tvs and poor reception, the media wouldn’t be able to influence the kids too much. They brought a lot of books, most of them about different religions, all of them non-fiction.
First came a daughter, then, three years later, came Conner. His parents didn’t stop at two, instead choosing to have another four children. With six all up (each three years apart, save for the youngest two, who were twins) the house was rather crowded. It motivated them to get out more and become friends with the other children. Often times Conner and some of his friends (and/or siblings) would sneak out of the city to see if they could see any Pokemon. They didn’t dare to go too far into the grass, because there was a long standing rumour that some of the Pokemon around there could usher on the apocalypse if they were angered.
He was home schooled, along with all of his siblings. He was taught quite a range of things, from survival skills to English. He wasn’t very good at learning things he didn’t like, History being one of the worst, and he was just barely average at those things he did like, such as math. He had a fondness for anything outdoorsy, especially if it involved building things. Before too long he started to entertain the idea of becoming an engineer, and likes the idea to this day. Pokemon were mentioned in lessons, but there was no real emphasis on them. There were books, though, which the kids could read if they were ever too curious.
The family were all very close. They could talk to each other about anything, and they did. With each kid free to choose their own religion, they did. There were a lot of debates, and they soon decided that if one couldn’t hold their own in a debate they’d need to rethink their beliefs. This set the stage for him to second guess himself a fair bit, but also to be sure of himself once someone thinks his ideas are okay.
When he was twelve his sister left. There was nothing along the lines of family drama that drove her away, she just wanted to try Pokemon training. She left for Sinnoh, because going over seas sounded exciting. She sent post cards often, and soon Conner wanted to do the same. When he turned fifteen he left, and, being the second in the family to do so, it sparked a family tradition. Fifteen became the age that each of the O’Connor’s left home (only the twins are yet to leave), with the intent to train Pokemon.
While his sister had gone to Sinnoh, Conner stayed in Hoeen. The place was his home, and he wanted to explore it, maybe even find out what those Pokemon in the long grass were all about. So, he travelled to the lab, got his Pokemon, and started to explore. He loved each of his Pokemon, but they weren’t the most exciting thing, to him. He loved cars the instant he saw them. He had seen them on TV, of course, but it was so much different to see them in person. The more he saw them, the more he wanted one, so he decided the instant he was old enough he’d get one.
Before he got his car, Conner got something he hadn’t really expected to find: a boyfriend. He loved romance, but had never taken the time to think he’d be the one someone liked, some day. He was overjoyed, and the two travelled together for quite a while. He managed to get his car license, soon followed by his motorbike licence, which helped the two of them travel around a fair bit faster. So, for his boyfriend’s birthday, Conner decided to take him somewhere special. The first part of their date went well, but the second part… not so much. Apparently, he’d picked a bad place to take his boyfriend, because a bunch of teenagers started to cause trouble. It started with a few yells about how weird it was for a guy to like another guy, but it soon escalated to violence. Conner wasn’t exactly weak, so he helped his boyfriend escape. Now outnumbered, he was easily beaten up.
When he woke up he was in a Pokemon Centre and very confused. He wasn’t hurt too badly, but it was certainly enough to scare him. Not to mention the strangest thing; he couldn’t speak. Nurse Joy said he was in shock, and it would take him anywhere between a few hours and a few days for him to get his voice back. When a few days passed and he still couldn’t talk he decided to go home. His parents and siblings welcomed him back with open arms, but were more than a little bit surprised when he couldn’t speak to them. Conner and his boyfriend tried a long distance relationship for a while, but it dissolved pretty quickly.
The next couple of years he stayed at home, and he, his parents and his remaining siblings all learned sign language. It was tricky at first, but when they were all reasonably okay at it their conversations flowed as well as they always had. This carried on for almost two years when he got a letter from his sister. She needed help, but she couldn’t say why. Conner, only a few weeks away from being twenty-two, wrote back to say he was on his way.
When he finally got to her she was all but panicking. Apparently Team Galactic were doing experiments on a Mew, trying to see if they could clone it, just as Team Rocket once tried. It was insanity, and she just knew it would end badly. Usually she was all for whatever scheme they came up with, but, on top of everything else, they were hurting this Mew. After a few weeks of planning, in which the Mew progressively got worse, they decided to make their move.
The two sneaked into the room in broad day light, when there were less guards around. Ever fewer were around thanks to a little plot they'd made; a work party, which had quite a few people abandoning their post. They were in and out mostly unseen. The Mew wasn’t in a very good state by the time they got it out. Even one more experiment would of probably killed the poor thing. Conner took the Pokemon home, and his sister stayed with Galactic. They didn’t suspect her for a minute, and someone entirely unrelated got pinned for the crime.
Conner and the Mew stayed in Fortree for a while, all of his family cooing over the legendary, and Nurse Joy helping get her back on track. After a few months she was as good as new. Conner was fairly certain she’d want to leave, so, he told her she. Since she never had a pokeball she had always been able to, but he had assumed she wanted to be better first, so, when she didn’t leave he was quite confused. At least, he was until she told him she wanted to travel with him. He couldn’t refuse. It didn’t take them long to decide to visit Anrui, a place he didn’t really know much about. Conner released his Pokemon (he doesn’t know it, but they chose to say and help out his parents), and started on his way there. The Mew decided to go her own way, flying over there. They’ve been separated for a while, but she’s there waiting for him.
