[HENRY PIPKIN]

By midday the sun had begun bleaching the bones of Hyo's industrial district. Henry Pipkin walked among the rubble, looking like he too had lost all his color. Compared to the docks with its flow of ships and people and more drastically in comparison to the downtown, where bright signs advertised shops, cafes, and most importantly, Plasma, the industrial district was crumbling, fading away. Graffiti marked abandoned buildings. The few scraggly apartments had boarded up windows. The streets, mostly devoid of cars and often blocked off in sections, sported broken glass and wisps of trash. 

Henry kept an eye on all of it, face drawn into a stony mask, his pale skin whitened by the liberal amount of sunscreen he had spread on it earlier to avoid having the tropical sun burn him a shade of rose. He had Carmine safely stashed away in the pokeball on his side. This was the first time he had ventured out to patrol on his own. Throwing his thoughts back to the day he spent on assignment with Malachi, the young man couldn't help but let out a huff.

Still, he hadn't expected to find such... inspiration. Either there or here. But the brutalistic nature of both Malachi and the industrial district were giving way to a sense of beauty. 

In short, Henry was trying to find a place to sketch. On his back was slung a large backpack, which contained his travel painting kit. In his mind's eye he toyed with composition. At the heart of it, Carmine of course. Brilliant red. Sharp white. A contrast of color and texture. But he needed a background to compliment and challenge her beauty. Grey-ish concrete. Rusted metal. A splash of green, from grass struggling to grow through the cracks or words scrawled on buildings. 

He turned his head as he strolled down the street, narrowing his eyes at the abandoned warehouses, searching for that something. That extra bit of life, of personality, of feeling that he knew was hidden, no matter how deep, beneath the failed rubble. 

ooc: henry doesn't know it, but he is on the lookout for a nincada ouo +1 level to Carmine, making her level 7 in this thread. This thread takes place three days after his first even thread w/ Malachi.
