DISSIDIA "SPARKS" KADO.
THE RUINED POKEMON
- Sparks wasn't always so pale, but I suppose that was what prison does to you. He stands at about 6'1" and looks as if he were eighteen years of age. With a face that is well-rounded, soft and vaguely calm, he looks to be about ten years younger than what he really is. He has almond shaped eyes, framed by a thin brush of lashes, a straight nose trailing from between them. His brows are dark and seem to stand out against his skin, a sign of what color his hair used to be.
As a child, he once had dark hair - as dark as the night sky - but after the torturous events that he had gone through within the Resistance Jail cells (no one ever said they were the real good guys here), it turned completely white. This process is thought to have been caused by a syndrome known as Marie Antoinette Syndrome. Whether or not this is what happened to Sparks is completely unknown, however, his hair has yet to show a single dark strand since that day.
There were more changes made to his body from his torture though, his nails becoming a dark violet (nearly black) in color. Whether it was from a lack of key vitamins or from the torture itself, it is all still a mystery and, just like his hair, has stayed that way. Of all the things wrong with him now, one could agree that his hair and nails are much more appealing than the scars lining his body. The lines on his back and chest, the burns around his wrists and ankles are only added reminders of what he has endured with imprisoned.
While his right eye is a normal, pale blue color - the left is not. The sclera has turned almost completely black, with a pattern of red veins coming from an equally red iris. Again, this was one of the results from his torture. Needless to say, when he was returned to his cell, it was obvious to other prisoners that Resistance did not play around with Plasma individuals. At least, not their more sadistic experts. While he does have vision in that eye, it often times feels as if a haze is covering his view and it has made his peripheral a bit harder to use.
Though he has had to deal with whatever clothes have been given to him in the jails, he would normally be wearing a full-on black outfit, covering him from neck to toe - except for his hands and face. He's not really trying to pull of a style or intending to impress anyone, it's just what he prefers really. It's what makes him feel safe. Now, he will be wearing this outfit to cover the scars from his torment, despite having accepted what has happened to him. What was once slung around his neck is a very important gift, from a very important friend. A leather mask with a toothy smile, the mouth able to zip open if he would like. Currently, there is no patch to cover his right eye (not that this is in his custody at the moment). He won't be leaving the place without it and will modify it later on so that a patch does cover the eye that was not damaged. He tends to wear it at all times, while only covering his face when he is on the job (for an extra bit of fright).
|Sparks has never been the type to talk, often very silent and saying nothing at all. Even when he was growing up, he would hardly utter a word, but when certain individuals were around, he would find comfort in their presence open up. After these recent events, the likeliness of him saying anything is long gone, with the exception of his friends. This quietness, however, makes him perfect at his job. While Sparks is silent most times, he is mentally strong. He does not believe in giving up in yourself, even when everything else seems bleak. He sees no point in starting something that you cannot finish, keeping himself going even though every day is a struggle.|
Though he has had a lot happen to him, he is still merciful to others. On the job, things are different, but outside of that, he is gentle and loving in a way. He can be friendly to others as well, but only if they are friendly first. He keeps walls up to ensure his safety at all times - you never know if the little old lady that you're helping load groceries is going to randomly stab you.
An extremely realistic person, Sparks knows better than most that life isn't always sunshine and rainbows. He has accepted death already, despite still being alive. Maybe it's just him wishing for freedom in any form, but he knows that if his freedom is in such a form, he won't hesitate to take that chance. He has become unstable due to the torture he's been suffering through. Due to this, he has a tendency to lash out and become a danger to others and quite possibly himself. Perhaps seeing a doctor could fix this, but for now, he cannot help it. When members of the Resistance need to take him away for any reason, they knock him out and strap him down as a precaution.
Even though he has been described as friendly, he does not like large crowds of people or being touched. He keeps to himself and avoids rooms with more than three people in them, causing him to feel claustrophobic in a way. Touching causes him to flinch without realizing what he is doing, even if that person is a friend of his. He seems to be rather cold to people at times as well, the thing that breaks it being those who appear too weak to do any damage. Unless you have a Crobat, in which case he will probably run away or try to kill you in an uncontrollable rage.
Sparks is unforgiving to those who wrong him. You can bet that if you have had any play in his torture, he's not going to let you slide off quietly. You're on his list of people he intends to kill now. You and the people that killed his partner. He has been suffering since being taken by the Resistance, and he wouldn't be surprised if Antoinette suddenly decided to kill him (though he would have to escape first). If all this were to happen and Antoinette was to let him live afterwards, he would definitely have to see a therapist and take some medication for that pain.
- To put it short: Sparks did not have the happy family life like most children his age. His father had passed away when his mother was pregnant, a horrible accident at the canning factory in which he worked at. His mother passed shortly after giving birth to him due to an infection that the doctors could not treat. Just days after his birth, Sparks was thrown into the system with his name as a last memory of whose child he was.
Bouncing back and forth, from foster home to foster home, he became trouble maker. Maybe it was the kids at school that drove him to skip his classes; bullying him for his lack of family life and stability within it. Maybe it was the abusive foster parents who were only taking care of him, and the two other foster kids with them, for the money that they had been given for their care. Eventually they wouldn't be able to handle him and, like others, would throw him back into the pool of foster kids; just like the first parents, and the second, and the third. None the less, his life lacked stability all together and eventually - as the story goes - he fell in with the wrong group and the wrong people during his spare time. It was because of this that his childhood seemed to fly by.
He was seventeen, doing it all. Drugs, alcohol, sex, stealing; it was as if the system had forgotten all about him, as if they stopped caring or that he had never existed in the first place. That was where he wound up: on the streets, taking from others and destroying himself little by little. But fate had something else in store for him ...
It was a cold winter's night that same year when they found him and the gang he was in. Everyone had scattered, Team Plasma giving chase. His body too weak from the environment that he had been living in, Sparks was the first caught. He was panicky and frightened at first, kicking and flailing as they loaded him up into their cars and drove him off to an unknown location. There, he ended up meeting a Plasma Admin who sought to take him in and rehabilitate him into something more. Something more than a parasite to the economy of Anrui.
At first, their road was bumpy, as it should be. Sparks didn't want anything to do with Team Plasma and made it obvious every day that he was being kept as a prisoner. However, every time he would sneak out, that same Admin - Noel Erin - would be waiting for him right outside. Each time, he would take him back in and have a long talk with him (usually about changing his life around). Sparks did not like him at first, the man acting as if he was the boys father, acting as if he was responsible for him when he didn't even know Sparks. Perhaps this was what made his stop and think about what Noel was trying to do.
It took some months, about seven of them, when Sparks had finally come around to accept his new home. He had begun to look up to Noel as a father, and the two began to share a close bond. As a result, Noel offered Sparks a place in Plasma by his side, offering to train him himself: an assassin and informative for this group. It was a suddenly new experience and the first few weeks made his head spin as he learned all about Plasma and how to move about stealth-like. With some time and effort, he was able to complete his training at twenty-three years old and joined Noel as a comrade. For the occasion of completing his training, Noel had a mask made for him: a fake smile made from leather that zipped open, strapping around his skull and neck. Noel told him that they wore them so they might live normal lives when they were not working, as well to keep their identities hidden during certain missions. For Sparks, it was the only item that he would ever posses with the utmost care and affection, a gift from the man that he would call father.
But it all came crashing down too soon.
A mission had gone wrong in which they'd been ambushed. At first, Sparks had lost consciousness for a split second, and when he opened his eyes he saw what was happening. One of the Plasma Grunts that they had been training betrayed them, most likely working under cover for the Resistance. He had tried to get to his feet but was struck down by an electric type Pokemon and he fell to darkness again, awaking in the jail cells of the Resistance. When they came for him, he hoped it was to kill him. He had no idea what had happened to Noel, no idea whether the man was alive or dead.
He was often times sent to random rooms and simply questioned, his hands cuffed to the the table so that he couldn't leave. Other times, they would send him to a different room, in which he was put into a condition known as anesthesia awareness. The process would cause him to stay awake as they tortured him, his memory recalling a Crobat that would attempt to put him out (though he wondered if there was something seriously wrong with the Pokemon as well). As the years passed and his torture continued with hopes that he would give out information, his hair began to turn white and his nails darkened. His eye became damaged from trying to extract memories from him, though he was never sure if their experiment had actually worked.
Now, Sparks is still siting in the Resistance Jail cells, waiting for someone to come help him despite how long it has been. He's heard them say something about being done with him, that he would be put out of his misery soon, but someone appears to have mixed up all the paperwork and screwed it up, giving him more time. Everything he feels is numbing right now, but the shadow looming over him feels almost warm and comforting ...
